did she actually condemn the war against Iran or are libs being delusional again?

[–] [email protected] 85 points 3 days ago (2 children)

lol she said Iran was the United States' main foreign rival in her campaign

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Rival- a person or thing competing with another for the same objective or for superiority in the same field of activity

She meant 'Enemy' but rival is a softer sounding word. They are absolutely no way rivals.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 3 days ago (1 children)

she said "greatest adversary"

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 days ago

That's less weird sounding.

In 4 years did the US do anything as hawkish against Iran as murdering Suleimani?

Like, I obviously think the dnc should be destroyed but the front page being littered with Kamala posts the day after a declaration of war seems like some Republican astroturfing, truly weird levels of cope and almost offensive considering the severity of the situation

I gotta say, Hexbear is the last place I would expect to be called a Republican shill for making fun of Kamala Harris and reddit libs, yet here we are.

But anyway, places like reddit and bluesky currently have levels of "I told you so" posting that is off the charts. It only stands to reason there would be more anti-lib posts than usual in the past couple of days, given the rank hypocrisy and all. I mean, what do you even say about Trump? There are serious discussions to be had about that... but this is c/slop.

Some of those posts are mine. I have one of the oldest accounts on hexbear, having been here since the day the site launched. It's a pretty long con for me to post almost 2000 comments over 5 years, mostly about socialism being good, so I can then "republican astroturf" by pointing out that democrats had a hand in bringing us to this point.

Anyway what was Chuck Schumer trying to do here? This guy is the most high ranking democrat right now.

you're just coping and seething op there's no way dems are just as fucking bloodthirsty as republicans!!!

We definitely struggle with anti-lib vindictiveness and this is the home of people who are pissed at liberal family members and friends. Naturally, libs are having their "told you so" moment and people just want to correct the record.

IMO initiating and aggressively squashing opposition to the Gaza genocide (well, accelerating it, but you get what I mean) and Operation Prosperity Guardian were pretty clear preludes to this war and were pursued by the Biden admin. Is that as hawkish as Trump 1? Nah, not really, but libs really hate being reminded of their shared culpability. Like when we remind them PR exists as more than just a card to play against Republicans.

i think it's very reasonable to consider helping isr*el greatly accelerate its genocide on palestine + support on bombing lebanon + outright bombing yemen itself to be a series of hawkish moves very close to bombing iran itself, yes. the dem admin kept calling iran's bluff, which tbf they were right to do because iran let the vast majority of this escalation happen with very little response, but still to pretend like they werent making very hawkish moves that risked iranian retaliation is laughable and borderline dem apologia

isr*el also assasinated an important IRGC official, assuredly with the help and approval of the US, and they faced a somewhat similar level of response to what the US receieved if you consider that the US is not in range of iran's best ballistic missiles unlike isr*el
