I tried the Cerave tub. It was… fine? A bit mediocre.
Barely noticeable sting which is probably my barrier being compromised. A tiny bit more emollient than the tube, but it’s still very thick and dry. I put on one heaped fingerful and then another trying to get it to moisturise as even a lot doesn’t go very far.
It kind of disappeared leaving a thin waxy residue behind which felt a little stiff and uncomfortable. It feels like you need something more hydrating underneath and this would seal it in.
Honestly I rate the Vaseline Dry Skin Rescue body lotion higher and it’s more economical but my skin suddenly started stinging and breaking out from that when it hadn’t before. (Same bottle.)
Cerave tub was ok at the start but I had to stop using it because it made me itchy
Ugh. Thought it was just me having issues. I hope they’re not making all the stuff shoddy for profit margins
Edit: Was it the one with niacinimide though?
Not sure, it was in a tub with darkish blue writing, I recall it was about $18. I persevered with it for a bit, used it on my legs (my skin there used to be indestructible loI) but I've since chucked it out so I can't check.
