Maybe we could create something new and wonderful? Oh wait, no. let's just see what else we can dredge up from the bottom of the nostalgia barrel, run for two seasons and then kill because it wasn't a super breakout success.

Creativity costs money. Lets hire some freelance writers, pay them a low wage, end their contract after the first season. If it is successful, we will hire brand new freelance writers to continue, who will not understand the source material and create something out in left field, destined to be cancelled.
