To be fair it looks horrendous on mobile, lots of overlays and ads

Use something like Firefox web browser with ublock origin

Seriously. What ads?

Y'all know you don't have to live in ad hell if you don't want to, right?

I have Firefox on iOS and a DNS ad blocker and it’s still hell, what am I missing?

Edit: oops my phone was somehow un-set from my DNS blocker. Looks much nicer. Still one ad at the top for an app, but far less intrusive

Ahh good 'ol iOS. Firefox on Android allows you to install uBlock, but I think FF iOS doesn't. I'd recommend maybe giving Orion browser a try, it looks like it has support for FF extensions (including uBO).

I unfortunately don't have a ton of experience with iOS options.

Yep no DNS blocker will stop fullscreen local scripts from running. This shit is why forums and the legacy web are dead
