You can always move to the great lakes and learn how to deal with blizzards. Pro tip: if the power is out in a snow storm put a towel under the door to stop drafts and use candles for heat and light
If you have a tent put it up on your bed. Good insulation below and traps convection heat loss. Would not advise doing this with candles.
