Smart move on the state dept's part, considering accusing someone of being a "genocide denier" is about the most heinous thing you can call someone casually
Unless it's a genocide that's fashionable or reached an arbitrary statute of limitation
"Uhhh sorry but everyone who did the genocide already died so we have no choice but to let their descendents reap the benefits of said genocide in perpetuity with no recompense to the descendants of the victims. Those are the rules."
