What is Lorcana?

Lorcana is a trading card game (TCG) announced by Disney developed in partnership with designers at Ravensburger. You, as an "illumineer," will summon alternate versions of Disney characters (both heroes and villains) in an attempt to be the first to reach 20 points (called Lore).
It is similar to other TCGs like Magic: The Gathering (MTG) and Pokémon.

What does everyone think about the upcoming rotation (feddit.nu)

I like that they finally have planned in rotation into Lorcana, it will only make the game better. Though I was initally little chocked that they will rotate the first whole block, but I think it makes sense.

I also like the idea of a "core set", like in MtG, where they have lots of reprints of existing cards. Question is how often such core set will be released.

When rotation comes, I will lose about 40 or so cards(!) from my Lemon/Lime deck I just built. Hell, most of my decks will be gutted from rotation. Lets just hope that they will reprint most of the cards that I play.

What happens with the Rotation, is that cards from Set 1-4 are not allowed at core-Constructed games, such as offical tournaments and side Events.

You can still play with the oder cards at open game nights, kitchen table, with friends and so on.

There is also a new official "infinity-constructed" mode for Lorcana, which all printed cards are allowed. In The future there are going to be official infinity-constructed tournaments and side Events as well.

And additionally, the Set 9 will have reprints of Old cards. That means the the old cards that have reprints are still considered standard and can be played with at core-constructed tournaments.

Rotation happens in almost all TCG games and keeps the game fresh and exciting. You can read more about it here:
