I have no idea why so many people are upset about Sync. There are so many FOSS alternatives. Just... don't use it? It literally doesn't impact you at all.

The Sync for Reddit Dev has released an app for lemmy. People are salty because it's way better than any of the foss apps that are currently out.

I'm not sure what people were expecting. It's not like the sync dev had to start over. I would bet they were able to reuse a huge chunk of the source.
