early 30s, i had that one friend who thinks everything is a game.
Let him smooth talk me into spending money I didn't really have on airfare to clean up one of his messes.
He asked me to forward the boarding pass to his email, and I told him he needed to call me on an urgent basis.
He couldn't be bothered to get out of bed at his hostel, so after an hour with no call back, I cancelled the non-refundable ticket.
He is currently blowing up my phone after waking up.
The moment I started to actually stand up for my own boundaries was the moment my perspective on a few close people in my life changed drastically.
If you don't give someone the opportunity to actually respect you, you'll never know if they do.
