Wait they have special days where they work on the weekend?

I believe they increase both the days off for holidays and compensate by working on weekends for some holidays

yeah if normally you would have say a thursday off for X festival, then they make the friday a holiday as well so you have a four day weekend, but then the week after you would have to make up the extra friday by working a sunday or saturday. kids also attend school the same way

and sometimes the inverse happens where when a holiday falls on a weekend, the normal monday is an off day to compensate
