First of all, welcome!

If you haven't already, please read the sidebar for the rules etc. If possible, alongside posting a generic YouTube or Bandcamp link to a song, if you could post links to other services you use (such as Spotify) then it makes it easier for people to listen on their preferred platform. This isn't essential, but I think it makes it easier for everyone to access the music and listen the way they want to.

An alternate post structure myself and @[email protected] use, which I think looks the nicest, uses the image post format (with the album cover as the image) and links to the relevant platforms at the bottom of the text body. See one of my posts for reference. Again, not essential, just helps keep things uniform.

And if you want to be a real saint, you could remove unnecessary parameters from links 😉 (though I don't expect everyone to go to that much trouble).

Enjoy some good fucking music! 🤘

Old school thrash from just outside LA, California. Time has not been kind to this debut, but the opener kicks ass, which is my pick today. Speed metal voice with crossover thrash songwriting certainly makes it unique. This is definitely someone's ride or die hands-down favorite, but it ain't mine.

From Quebec, Canada we have more hardcore/metalcore with thrash metal dripping from its edges. Decent riffs/guitar tone and the voice knows how to keep it in control, and a beatdown style hardcore breakdown in the end.

Tidal, Bandcamp, RateYourMusic, not "metal enough" for the metal archives

Side note: I notice what this trend my daily recommendations keeps giving me and I'm not sure I'm too into this metalcore or hardcore direction just yet. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but I'll leave the decision up to you guys if you want me to keep these coming, as there are definitely more of them than I thought.

Metalcore band from Ohio, USA that blends a lot of thrash metal and crust punk into their music. Vocalist James Bulloch has a shrieking yell that can be a bit much - on this album he's credited as "HF" or Human Furnace lol. Another standout is the title track of the album, Hammer of the Witch.

Fairly underground old-school English thrash band, signed to Noise Records back in the day. Nothing groundbreaking, but still some solid stuff. Very fun. Vocals remind me a little of Nuclear Assault. Guitars remind me of much simpler Toxik, but more straight to the point.

Cavalera bros' band, that isn't Sepultura or the Conspiracy, which plays crossover thrash with crust punk, groove metal, and occasionally mixes in some death metal. Definitely better than I would have thought, never judge a book... etc lol. You'd be moshing if this was played in a venue for sure. Also peep at the song I.C.E. Cage xD.

Groove metal and crossover thrash come together with a fat production befitting a long and storied band. Prong typically add industrial elements and sometimes play nu-metal, which is definitely not to my liking, but those parts are mostly missing here. The groovy sections can be a bit much, though it doesn't detract from my overall enjoyment. Linked is the last track before the Rush cover.

More of my favorite Polish band that isn't Behemoth or Decapitated. I bring to you my number 1 track from this their not so greatest album, but the main riff carries.

OSDM but dipped in thrash, this track is a classic banger that I've brought to share today. Love the midpoint riff and the ending solo. Gets me headbanging every time. Dutch deathrashers Thanatos did a cover of this track and it's really good as well.

Have you seen a more fitting speed fuckin metal album cover than this one? lmao.

Hailing from Canada, this modern heavy metal band opened their second album with this explosive track, which is as you'd expect, good shit. Vocalist has got one hell of a set of lungs too.

Crossover thrash from the UK from 2023 for today's upload. Woman-fronted and full of energy as always. Got plenty of groovy sections that don't last for more than a few seconds per song. Seems like a good fun time throughout the album too.

Typically hardcore punk or metalcore from the US west coast. They occasionally dip into crossover thrash - which is today's pick.

Tidal, Bandcamp witth some stuff - not this album, RateYourMusic, not "metal enough" for Metal Archives lol

Totally remote indie thrash band in the style of Power Trip, they have members residing in different states in the USA. This is decent even if they aren't all together in a room at once lol.

New single from Dark Angel! I started out excited, I'll admit but, is it just me? Between the vocals and the random effects, and the slightly unremarkable riffs - I feel a little underwhelmed. Like the vocals sound like some sort of parody. It can't just be me who is disappointed with this. What do you guys think?

Modern Teutonic thrash today. Standard stuff - kicks ass but you know what to expect. This one makes liberal use of backing shouts frequently during vocal delivery.

Second upload today cuz I felt like it! Melodeath band just happened to play a thrash track right in the latter half of their weakest (imo) album. But this track ain't that bad, just a tad short. Probably better off with a recommendation to check out the track Nemesis from the next album Doomsday Machine. Anyways lol I always love sharing stuff with you guys on the very edges of our extreme subgenres.

This upload is attributed to @[email protected], thanks for the recommendation my dude! Today's pick is my fav from their latest album. Love these relentless blasts and wails lol.

What an incredibly chaotic good time this band is. Feels more genuine in its approach to extreme music as well, in their death-sprinkled black/thrash style. This is definitely one to watch for the future!

New single teaser for upcoming album. Really like the production here, powerful riffs as well. Crushing bass.

First real track after the intro to this Greek band's third and arguably best album. Excellent song writing and killer riffs have me coming back to this one in the ol' playlist again and again. Not exactly number 1 or anywhere near top 5 of the second wave, this band still deserves a chance.

One of the best solos in thrash, from #thebestalbumofalltime. Anyone else wanna share their top solos of thrash?

Australian black/thrash band formed in 1994, though today's pick is more like a traditional thrash song. ~~I haven't check it out yet but reviews suggest they have better offerings previously, so I'll definitely give em a check!~~ Edit: nope lmao I ain't touching this one. My mistake for not consulting that one list first.

Probably the only song from this album even somewhat worthwhile. Nothing Kreator about it. That said, despite not being the most thrash-conforming material, this song has had a few plays from me.

Modern heavy metal from California. Speed metal song is the 4th track this time instead of the opener, so we're veering into uncharted territories lmao. Great tune overall tho, definitely on the shorter side.
