Amazon and Games Workshop have signed a full agreement to make TV shows and movies based on Warhammer 40,000. It may be a few years before you see those on the big or small screen, but Henry Cavill is on board as an executive producer.

The drama starring Stephan James and Lena Headey was previously developed for Spectrum Originals.

“I can’t tease a lot. I can tell you we’re in the middle of writing season nine,” Marder said in an interview with Comic Book. “I can tell you that we’ve already got a couple ideas for Season 10 that are already kind of pinned. There is a full plan for a full 10-season saga.”

Last month, Amazon Prime Video premiered the first half of Invincible season 2, and it was pretty amazing, but now fans are impatiently awaiting the final four episodes. In fact, star Jason Mantzoukas (Rex Splode) has already recorded lines for season 3. In an interview at the Percy Jackson premiere, shared on Reddit, Mantzoukas confirmed that work on season 3 is very much underway… and it’s absolutely crazy. “Ooh I can’t wait. ‘Cause I’ve already recorded season 3, and it’s bananas,” he said.

It’s a big day for a certain Murderbot who just wants to watch its soaps. Apple TV+ has announced that it’s adapting Martha Wells’ The Murderbot Diaries series, with Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood, The Northman) on board as executive producer and to star as the titular Murderbot.

The scripts for the ten-episode season have already been written (before the writers’ strike, in fact), and production is set to start in just three months. Directors Chris and Paul Weitz (About a Boy, Mozart in the Jungle) are the creators of the show (as well as the writers, directors and producers via their banner Depth of Field) and also serve as executive producers. Other executive producers include David S. Goyer, the showrunner for Apple TV+’s Foundation series, Keith Levine from the company Phantom Four, and Andrew Miano for Depth of Field. Wells serves as a consulting producer.

The Seth Rogen-Rose Byrne comedy will continue, though, according to the creators, their characters "won’t get together this time either.”

Platige Image (The Witcher) and Mount Devil, together with The Wheel of Time’s executive producer Mike Weber, are in the works on a TV series based on Otherland, the 4-book series by Tad Williams.

Otherland (the books and its TV adaptation) is described as “an epic cyberpunk-fantasy adventure.” The summary reads, “The world as we know it has an additional layer here – hyper-realistic VR arenas that have become a new place for fun, work, education but also debauchery, crime and abuse. The mysterious Otherland, supposedly another layer of the network, becomes a mere starting point for a multi-realm adventure.

”Reacher” failed to impress with its first season. But Season 2 of the Prime action throwback is an brawny, gruesome, over-the-top delight.
