"Regal’s non-compete as far as appearing on television is just about over. At the time Regal left he said that he wasn’t going to be appearing on television. He hasn’t worked for NXT, and they have Michaels as an authority figure, who while not as good at the job as Regal, is a far bigger name. They just hired Aldis for that role on SmackDown, and wouldn’t have done so if they planned to put Regal in that spot. I could see a cameo but as far as a regular TV role, it would have to be as an authority figure or manager."

"Regarding the Hall of Fame, this year will fall under Levesque for the first time instead of McMahon. It’s likely still the same basic rules regarding women, minorities and characters that the audience would know and those who make sense politically for a variety of reasons. I think Levesque may be a little more open to certain types since he was a fan of more than just WWE but once WWE owned the tape libraries a lot of that stigma was gone. I was told that, for example, if there is a political reason to put someone in that Nick Khan would want, that would be a factor but the Hall of Fame is under creative and that’s Levesque’s department and he’d in theory sign off on everyone"

"I remember this first person I called, was Brian Myers, Curt Hawkins. I remember calling him and I go 'What do I do?' Because he was released at the time too. He goes, 'Get up off the floor. Stop fucking crying and I'm calling you back. Give me a bit.' I go. 'Okay, great,' He goes 'See if those green pants still fit, you got to start working.'

I was expecting a call like, around suppertime with a date or two, he called me back 30 minutes later, with 16 dates. He goes, 'I got you. Here's the people. Here's what you message. Do your thing.' He goes 'Let's have fun. Now is the time to have fun.'

I think about that moment, at least once a week, where it's like, he was in that world. He got released. And he did not have to look out for me, obviously he was my friend, but he didn't have to do that. It was one of those like he just wanted me to be okay. It's something I truly truly like, I'll never be able to repay that in my life ever."

If you want to understand the current state of BritWres, there are few better places to start than NORTH.

Running since 2016 in Newcastle upon Tyne - a city of 300k in the north east of England once described by Michael Cole as "a small mining community" - they are a great example of what I love about BritWres, small passionate companies looking to put on great matches and build the next generation of talent, in front of very loud and usually drunk crowds of a few hundred people.

Speaking of drunk crowds, NORTH run their shows out of a small craft brewery - Anarchy Brew - and have their own beers as well. It's great.

Anyway, the card is:

  • NORTH Tag Team Tournament First Round Match - Natalie Sykes & Session Moth Martina vs. Che Monet & Visage
  • NORTH Tag Team Tournament First Round Match - Myles Kayman & Vusyk vs. Sunshine Machine (Chuck Mambo & TK Cooper)
  • Man Like DeReiss vs. Emersyn Jayne
  • Gene Munny & Kid Lykos II vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson)
  • Lana Austin vs. Eve Bateman
  • NORTH Tag Team Tournament First Round Match - Landed Gentry (Benji & Zeo Knox) vs. Act Two (Benjamin Harland & Jack Knudsen)
  • NORTH Title Match - Leon Slater (c) vs. Rhio

If you only have time to watch one match make it the main event. Video package starts at 2h14m20s, do yourself a favour and watch from there.

It’s hard. I don’t think we’re ever going to get over this. It’s very hard and the worst part about it, too, I can’t wait until this year finishes because I was in up in New York, my mom had a stroke when she was 86 years old. I spent three months going to a nursing home every day. My sister and myself watched her take her last breath. My wife flew up and Windham actually, Windham… came up and visited with my mom for a few days… So we lost my mom and two weeks later we lost Windham

Mayu Iwatani: "I'm proud to be a part of STARDOM, and I also say to the staff, "Thank you for always working hard." They have been able to create a situation where we can just wrestle matches without having to work a part-time job."

"Of course, if we talk about small things, ticket prices are higher, merchandise is more expensive, and there used to be an autograph session at Shinkiba (a small venue), but now it's gone and the sense of distance feels farther away. It's natural for things to change as the company grows, but we have to keep thinking about whether things should stay the same. When the start time was delayed (Ushiku show on November 5th), I was like, "Eh?!", but after all, we are who we are because of all our fans, and the fans are really warm.

I wonder. I'm proud to be a part of STARDOM, and I also say to the staff, "Thank you for always working hard." There are days when it's definitely tougher than the wrestlers, right? They arrive in the morning and set up various venues. The next day, they talk to the person in charge of the venue earlier than the wrestlers. They really support the wrestlers so they can compete. Thanks to that, they have been able to create a situation where we can just wrestle matches without having to work a part-time job. On the other hand, there was too much support and it became a tough match, match, match!! If only they could improve on that, I don't think there would really be a better company out there. Is it called the "stock of merchandise"? We checked it and loaded the luggage ourselves... that's how it was originally at STARDOM. I can only thank the staff for creating an environment where the wrestlers don't have to do that anymore and can focus solely on the matches. Wrestlers make mistakes too, and sometimes they get scolded. I think it would be great if we could convey the fact that the staff is working hard in such a situation.

I think it's a good company."

"Mick Foley, the wrestler — Mankind, Cactus Jack, Dude Love, and all those characters — he and I became very good friends," Snider told "Side Jams". "We lived near each other on Long Island, and we met and connected. Mick does insane amount of charity, and without making a big deal about it. Amazing. Put it this way — the man's married and he's got three or four kids. Mick would just in his spare time, go and knock on doors and show up at kids houses that he knew had were dying of cancer and were fans of his, and hang out and watch TV with them. And he called me one day and says, 'Listen, I'm visiting a kid in the hospital. He's got leukemia, he's a big fan of yours. Would you come with me?' So I went to the hospital and met this kid and saw what the kid got out of it, out of just that moment. When Mick drove me home, I said, 'Mick, you made me a better man today.' I'm getting a little choked up because I was so shaken. I said [to myself], 'Look at what Mick does, and look at what you don't do.' At the point, it was in the early 2000s, where I said, 'I need to do more. I need to give back. I need to say yes.' And not just send a guitar. By the way, all celebrities get these invitations, these opportunities to do more, and most of us just blow it off or send them an autographed picture or something. Thank you, Mick Foley, for waking me up and showing me that we can help. And there's something more that we need to do."

Just a nice little story about pro wrestling's favourite Santa.

I get to be the best version of myself while being a TNA Wrestling star, so this decision was pretty easy for me.”
