I feel like if you like AEW then you may like TNA. Similar vibe despite lower production value.

If you watch both consistently, what is your opinion between the two?

He’ll still appear at a few NJPW shows in February.

This feels wild.

“The report was delayed. It appears that the ligament had been completely torn (there were already fewer ligaments in other places), so I was completely immobilized in a cast that came down to just below my knee.
Next, I will decide what to do with the left side, and the right one will be coming back every two weeks.
My shoulder isn’t in perfect condition either, so I’m planning to fix everything this time.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
I would like to think about various things later.”

This is the full show, with commentary, from a couple of weeks ago. The main event is Leon Slater vs Speedball Mike Bailey, and is incredible.

It was a family friendly show so the crowd is a bit less sweary and drunk than usual, and there is also no bleeding.

Card is as follows:

  • Rumble Match (lots of local unknown talent and trainees, might as well skip)
  • Tag Team Match: Rampage Brown & Will Kroos vs. Reece & Rogan
  • Singles Match: Joe Hendry vs. Gene Munny
  • Singles Match: Rhio vs. Emersyn Jayne
  • Six Man Tag Team Match: Liam Slater, Natalie Sykes & Rory Coyle vs. Ace Matthews, Benji & Zeo Knox
  • NORTH Title Match: Leon Slater (c) vs. Mike Bailey

“Black Taurus” is no more. The guy under the mask is fine. Let’s call this man “Bert” (not a real name) to make this paragraph less confusing. AAA owns the “Taurus” gimmick, that’s not in dispute. Bert portrayed the Taurus character in AAA from 2015 to 2016. Bert then left AAA, modified both the outfit and the name ever so slightly, and portrayed “Black Taurus” for a couple of years. Bert also registered the Black Taurus name and outfit, and appeared on TV in Mexico (for Lucha Libre Elite) as that character. Bert returned to AAA in 2018. He resumed using the “Taurus” gimmick on AAA shows, but kept the “Black Taurus” branding for his outside and independent work. That outside work included his time in Impact Wrestling, where Bert was billed as “Black Taurus.” AAA appeared OK with that. AAA raised no objections of Bert using “Black Taurus” on indie shows or on merchandise. Bert, again under “Black Taurus,” appeared in an ROH show and an AEW show. AAA has been less OK with that. To me, there are three ways this could’ve gone:

AAA could’ve let the “Black Taurus” gimmick go of any issues because of their great friendship and alliance with AEW AEW could’ve decided Bert’s ownership of the Black Taurus character was legally sound, and just stuck with the character over AAA’s objections. AEW could decide to modify the “Black Taurus” character and name to something slightly more distinct from “Taurus” to avoid any legal issues. Option 2 wasn’t a real choice. I think Bert (and AEW) would have a strong case, but AEW recently settled a lengthy lawsuit over the Luchasaurus mask. I expect they’d rather not deal with that for another character, especially one they’ve only recently and barely put on TV. Option 1 seems a great possibility if AAA and AEW were on good terms. It’s going to be Option 3; I’m told Bert was prepared for that to be a possible outcome. I don’t know exactly what Bert will look like or be called when you see him on TV again, but I’m expecting his name won’t have the word “Taurus” in it

TV is the key here. AAA’s probably not this upset if Bert is working untelevised indies, and there’s no reason for Bert to invest into a new character without TV promotion to get it over. It may take a few days for you to read this same information behind a paywall, but this means Bert’s got a AEW/ROH deal.

"No, because I’m not a child. I’m the world champion. Oh, would you like me to go out and celebrate and go kiss a child maybe go run around in the bleachers? Is that what everybody missed? Was there supposed to be confetti and a big fireworks show and I high-five a bald eagle who is flying across in an F-14 jet? What soft-ass sorry stuff. The champion walked out of the building with the championship. That’s all you need to know. Unless that’s hard to comprehend. If it is, I’m sorry. I feel bad for y’all,"

RIP Jay.

Deonna is right here. While it’ll feel odd to get used to her gone from TNA, she had done pretty much everything. Looks like Gisele Shaw will get a chance to move up the card now, too.

“You know who this is aimed at.

I do not believe I have to do this, but with the unnecessary amount of news and attention that we have received over the last few weeks, the amount of tribalism between WWE and AEW trolls has reintensified. I wish all of you idiots step on legos for the rest of your days.

Here's the new rule:

a) No mention of "AEW" or "Tony Khan" or similar topics in comments about WWE promotion, shows, titles, matches or contracted wrestlers, neither directly or indirectly.

b) No mention of "WWE" or "Triple H" or "Vince McMahon" or "Nick Khan" or "Shawn Michaels" in comments about AEW promotion, shows, titles, matches or contracted wrestlers, again neither directly or indirectly.

I will leave it at my disgression to extend this list of "contextually banned words" without further announcement. The vast majority of the community gets it and I will protect this community and our ideals.

Non-compliance with the new rule may lead to one-time warnings or direct bans, depending on severity and comment history.

I am sick and tired of "you people" (again, you know who this is aimed at). Stop dragging us into a painfully unnecessary and embarassing "flame war" between two fucking world-sized companies. The next step is to lock down WWE and AEW ratings to long-term registered users and I don't fucking care if half of you leave at that point. CAGEMATCH was a lot of fun when we were small and unknown and I much prefer "fun and small" over "big and hateful" any day. No money is made with this website off of any of you clowns and more people just cost me more each month for maintenance and hosting, so I don't give a shit about the "page hits".

Personal note: I just gave out warnings for the Jinder/Rollins match where people were not commenting about the match but making it about WWE vs. AEW or themselves. I genuinely do not understand how these people can call themselves wrestling fans. I genuinely don't.”

Appears to be Black Taurus according to another tweet (the name is not distinct enough from 'Taurus' so he's gonna be changing his ring name.)
