Samsung is coming to my work for demo day in an hour. I'm bringing my NexDock 360 and AR glasses to test out. Let me know if anyone has questions or suggestions they'd like to communicate to Samsung.

Can the screen resolution when using Dex directly on a Tab S9+ be changed so there is more room for information (e.g. the icons are smaller etc)? Screen Zoom seems not to be sufficient ...

I want to minimize the number of devices I own. It would be a boner dream if I could connect my Samsung Dex (I currently own an S20) to a Windows Cloud PC, together with Bluetooth keyboard & mouse, and also an AR glass as a monitor.

That would mean I just need to own a powerful phone (and also an AR Glasses) and do without any tablet or pc/laptop. Is it possible to achieve this dream?

FYI, I need to use Windows PC because I need to use some apps from Windows Ecosystem.

Many thanks in advance! :)

I have a Dell U2723QE monitor which is daisychained to another smaller monitor. This monitor has Ethernet cable, connections to my keyboard and mouse and I would generally just plug whichever laptop with usb C cable and they'll start working.

Dex on the other hand on my S23 ultra starts showing up on the secondary screen, however, I want it on the main monitor. So I would disconnect the secondary display and it'll just not do anything at all. It'll give a notification that external screen detected but won't show anything on it.

I can see Ethernet and mouse etc working with phone when connected. I thought it might be monitor related so I reset the monitor as well and disconnected all other wires but still wouldn't work...

Any recommendations?

Good day All,

Maybe someone encounter this or know of a solution.

I recently got the new s9 ultra tab. And wanted to use it for work, but I notice when I wanted to copy data from MS excel sheet and paste it to a email (MS outlook) it doesn't give me the diffrent paste options that I need. And the data that it paste in the mail is unreadable.

Is there a solution for this and if so can you please guide me. As this is a real deal breaker for me.

See:

Please visit the link above and add a "like", and maybe even a comment, in support of Samsung including this functionality. I'm hoping that of the nearly 55,000 members here, we can get a good number to show that Samsung is missing a trick with this.

Nearly two years since posting that thread, 172 likes and 86 comments later (no small feat in a niche community like Samsung Members), Samsung seemingly has still not received the message that this is something they should permit/include on the Fold.

For those who claim the Fold's screen is too small to actually use DeX on it, I use my Fold for remote desktop often. See:

I also use the Fold screen for 3+ app multitasking on a regular basis. See:

Even if you don't see yourself using it, I hope you can at least agree with the principle that there's no reason this feature should be withheld as exclusive to Tab S devices.

Thank you to those who have already engaged with the thread, and thanks in advance to those who will!

Can Websites be saved as Progressive Web Apps when using Dex in analogy to using Edge on Windows 11 and saving websites as 'apps' & attaching them to the task bar?

I've set up my Galaxy S23 Ultra on DeX for PC. Minecraft: Pocket Edition can ordinarily be controlled by touch, controller, or keyboard & mouse. My controls are trapped in "controller" mode even though I don't have a controller plugged in. I've tried plugging in a controller, but it refuses to recognize said controller anyway. I can't seem to find any fix online.

My keyboard and mouse are plugged into my PC, and not connected to my phone via bluetooth. This works just fine when I use the Internet or something -- I can type and use my mouse normally -- but it gets confuddled when I try to play Minecraft.

Has anyone fixed a similar problem around here? Other people have played Minecraft: Pocket Edition using DeX, so I'm hoping it's also doable for me.

Just a reminder that nexdock is accepting pre-orders for their new lapdock, if you're interested

And just to clear up any questions:

No nexdock is not paying us in any way to post/sticky this.

This is purely out of my own self-interest in seeing this produced. I think it's a step in the right direction, design wise (if not the final vision of what I'd like)

We have so few innovators in the lapdock arena, I'd sure like to see success for multiple folks producing new DeX solutions

Hello! I wanted to get some input from the community on the best browsers to use inside and outside of Dex. I just got the Z fold 5 a few weeks ago and I've been loving it. I mainly use it for work on the go, media consumption and some gaming. I'm the CEO for a small company and my job mainly consist of email, slack, google meet and browser apps to manage everything (mostly within Google workspace apps). I've been using Kiwi browser but the fact that it doesn't work with 1password is making it difficult since I need 1password for personal and work. Anyone knows about another desktop style browser that works well in dex or should I just stick to chrome? Thanks in advance!

Hey all,

I’m looking for a dock that works with both a Samsung and a moto edge+ 2022 that works with 4k and has at least one usb port (two would be better)

By dock I don’t mean like stand… so I’m cool with dongles etc.

I’ll be hooking the phone up to my tv or to a monitor at my desk.

I tried my moto phone on an hp and a dell usb c dock and both had their own issues. On hp no sound out of hdmi. On dell usb ports didn’t work.

So I’m just wondering if any of you have first hand knowledge on one that works and is reasonably priced! (Preferably from Amazon)

Thanks!

I have a new phone but a still working fold 3. I have repurposed it as a light weight PC/media centre. It's great for this as when open, have a nice trackpad. And Dex for the desktop. So my wish is for a case that you can leave it open permanently. I have no plans to close it so something that will protect it would be great.

What would be the best non subscription office app I can use in Dex mode.

I spend half of my time in the office, and up until recently we had a very lax policy on what you could do with our company provided PCs. It was perfectly fine to browse personal social media, or shop etc. There were some content filters for more racy websites, but I wouldn't think to browse them with my work PC.

I recently got a security clearance to work on some government contracts, and we got a new extremely overzealous infosec person within a few months of each other. Now my work PC basically cannot navigate to nearly any website outside of internal sites, and a few that slip through the cracks.

No youtube, or spotify in the background for music. No amazon for shopping. Can't even use Google docs for some reason, which is a huge PITA for work related tasks. Any attempt to circumvent these restrictions will get a instant stern email from IT.

Anyway I recently got a new PC with USB C output, and I bought a cheap dongle to plug in all my peripherals, and monitor for one cable docking of my company laptop. On a lark I plugged in my fold 4 to charge, and DEX auto launched.

I was aware of Dex, and even had played with it years ago, but it has now become the answer to my prayers.

Suddenly I have a completely functional desktop completely free of nagging from the IT dept. I can operate my work mostly 100% from DEX, and anyone walking by will just assume I am using Windows. Not to mention the awesome ability to correspond with all of my numerous messaging apps running natively on my phone.

For the past few weeks my laptop stays in the bag 90% of the time, and I am just using DEX as my main work computer through the various apps, and web portals. It functions so amazingly well, I cannot believe that there is no marketing behind this. It feels like Samsung has basically solved the PC interface off of a phone, and no one even knows about it.

Absolute kudos to Samsung for how polished they have made this.

Guys, what games it is cool to use the dex? I mean, I can connect a keyboard and a mouse and play the game like I'm playing on a computer? Maybe Genshin Impact? (I haven't received my first smartphone with dex feature, I'm just curious what games I can play like I'm in a real windows computer with mouse and keyboard for when I receive my s22ultra)

I also have <$150 to spend. So here we go. (BTW, nit listed is a usb c portable battery).
