So, the way I see it, the main reason dinosaurs needed to be nerfed and removed was because the devs had a different plan for the future map and classes. Ever since the Mesozoic Update: Part 1 (Triassic Update) the map changed from a large supercontinent to multiple smaller continents. This was likely because the devs had access to more powerful computers and coding software that let them code in more complex mechanics like continental drift, how water on landmasses would work, and another key thing- the ability to process millions of feathers and fur sprites from species across the world, which would let animals fly and/or be more resilient to cold. Additionally, I think the Devs were always envisioning a hyper intelligent class at some point, and originally that was going to be the Troodontids. However, they quickly realized that the other dinosaurs were just too big and OP for any intelligent species to conquer, and more players were choosing to have their Troodontids evolve into Bird classes opposed to increasing their intelligence. So, combined with the fact that the devs’ vision for the new map and features clashed with the playerbase playing more and more as the dinosaurs, which wouldn’t adapt well to the new map, they decided to nerf dinosaurs and eventually vault all of them except for the bird classes that players had evolved into existence. With this, they could now create the mammals, almost all of which had fur or hair, and would adapt better to the smaller maps and different climates. However, data miners revealed that at some point the devs did intend to bring back dinosaurs with the “Terror Bird” class, and perhaps today they gave us some base classes to experiment with in the cassowary and Ostrich. It’s really interesting how the devs decided to keep the legacy of the dinosaur classes alive with birds yet the only part of the pterosaur class, the first vertebrates able to use “fly” only got to see bats as an Easter egg. So ultimately, the reason they removed the Dinosaur classes was because they wouldn’t play well in the new maps, and because Troodontids, what was originally going to evolve into the first hyper intelligent species, instead kept choosing to evolve into flying, less intelligent builds.

I have been spending my days wondering the [woods] area and using [awareness] and after some time i realised that [outside] is mostly just a survival game. All the other stuff in [outside] like jobs and money, status and power is made by players and not actually a real thing in the game. My constant need to improve and constant worries have been reduced greatly by this as I now see what the devs actually created.

I'm not saying that these player created things are bad, but on the fundamental level they are not truly needed for [outside] to run.

I always thought the devs want me to do all these things in society, behave a certain way, feel and do certain things, be afraid, but really it's players and factions that created these ideas in me about [outside]. It seems that more than half of what I thought the game is, is community mods, underneath that is the real deal, as real as a game can be.

I recommend being in touch with these areas and spending more time there instead of just using mods all the time, it could help the game run better for everyone. Also try not to use mods while in the area, just be there and you will be [outside].

I got struck with the “Depression Relapse” debuff, along with losing my last “Happy Place” buff for a little over a month ago.

However I got a sharp boost to my Writing Skill, something which was bordering trash tier before. Which is great because the Writing minigame is one of my favorites.

That being said the happiness drop has lowered my movement speed, attention span and overall efficiency in nearly every other aspect outside of Writing (and shitposting on forums). I’m wondering if maybe the trade-off wasn’t worth it in the end, but perhaps only time will tell.

I feel... lost. I checked my HP bar, and it said full... and yet, I feel like I have less HP since the event...

I have also received the [Emotionally Damaged] status, as well as [Waterworks]. I'm just going to assume this comes in hand with losing your Companion...

Just... anyone have a guide? I feel like I need one.. and a [Box of Tissues] would be nice.. maybe a [Taunt: Hug] would be too...

I am currently still in the tutorial, but I am doing it on hardcore mode. This costs a large amount of gold, but will give me the advantage of have the [Associates Degree] scroll when I finish the tutorial. I did a long quest this summer and made enough gold to pay for two semesters worth of hardcore classes. The last level of the tutorial is going to have a lot more dungeons that have a high gold requirement to enter them. Working the same quest next summer season is not enough to access all of these dungeons, and I do not have time to do any quests right now because I need time to do the [study] minigame to pass these current dungeons. Any tips on how I could manage to gain a little extra gold without getting worse completion scores in these hardcore dungeons?

I keep looking, but haven't found where the third person perspective toggle switch is. I'm tired of first person, it's quite dizzying, especially when I'm trying to melee. Anyone have any suggestions ?

Recently a lot of players with the [Preacher] subclass have been coming to my PC home trying to talk to me about how, if you were an exceptional player, you get access to the thrilling sequel "Inside" if you log out or quit.

I personally think their inventories are full of the [Bison Feces] item, but I'm not entirely sure. I just don't see why the dev team would want to abandon Outside to work on a sequel. There's so much work to be done.

I’ve never really cared about armor while playing, opting for whatever works and I often end up wearing some armor pieces for the majority of my levels before remembering I need to switch things up. I’m still in the tutorial and a few players in my level told me I should wear better armor, which I 100% agree with, but my starting area is pretty hot and I ended up with a self harm debuff a few years ago on my arm, which has really restricted what I can equip. The next tutorial level is starting soon, and I don’t wanna end up wearing the same armor for the entire level again. What are some good armor combinations for warm areas that still cover arms?

Edit: For context I’ll be going into tutorial level 11 (not level 11) and I rolled the Male character option, however I have minimal points invested in STRENGTH and have a slim character build

I have been looking for ways to upgrade my characters strategy but can't find how and where to upgrade their strategy, only shitty training maps.

All the time im playing, i constantly hear about the players with such titles as [MONEY, MONEY EVERYWHERE!] and [ECONOMYHOLDER] constantly get high fame points despite doing nothing at that stage, while various players all around the world with difficult grindy jobs get barely any sort of recognition, i believe that those rich players have put too many stat points on their EGO tree and in turn, do horrible choices, is it just me?

This weekend, completely out of nowhere, the player I had been playing the romance questline with decided she was done playing with me. She kept reassuring me that it wasn’t a skill issue, and that I’d basically been carrying the whole time, but she felt like she couldn’t see herself doing the endgame quests with me anymore. Of course I was devastated. We spent 2 years doing co-op together. We were just about to start the “move-in together” quest when she decided to end things.

It’s only been a few days but I’ve taken a significant number debuffs. My max stamina dropped like crazy, my hunger bar is doing this thing where it keeps disappearing and I can’t tell if I need food or not, and my character keeps doing this annoying emote where it drops to the floor and starts crying uncontrollably.

The only thing that makes the emote stop is if I put on a marathon of the in-game show “Family Matters” for six hours, which is all well and good but I still have to do quests for my employment guild.

I could use some tips from more experienced players for what to do when your coop player leaves unexpectedly.

My character is level 29, and I’ve sort of not known what I’m supposed to do for the past 11 levels, so I haven’t progressed any of the main quests. I’ve done a specific mini-game series called [video games] to try and fight off the [depression] debuff, but all that time spent on mini games has just led to a mostly useless character with no notable skills. My character does have other hobbies, but I never seem to gain any skill points in them, and I’ve considered dropping them. My character has no real talents outside of being both blessed and cursed with the [compassion] trait, and sometimes I feel like all my character has besides [compassion] is a stack of debuffs.

Sorry for the ranting post. It’s just frustrating, having a character with the [depression] debuff. Currently holding one of the cat members of my family guild for [comfort] on this morning where my [overthinking] decided to kick in again, but [comfort] is only ever a temporary fix. Any other players with the [depression] debuff who have any ideas on how to counteract it? I could really use some advice from a player with higher INT and WIS than me.

I was doing the daily quest [PUNISHING THE PORCELAIN] earlier when I suddenly had a startling realization. For a bit of context I am a level 22 player currently grinding to obtain the [BACHELOR OF SCIENCE] title and it got me thinking, the game is just a one big grinding simulator. After I finish my current quest I will probably have to take on the [EMPLOYMENT] quest and there's the chain quest [DON'T GET SACKED] and that's basically it until my characters L.I.F.E Membership expires and that kinda sucks, wish there was updates that can make the gameplay more exciting.

For me, I have a bunch of side quests, but my main one is the [UNIVERSITY ADVERSITY] questline, where you have to get into any university (one of the more open ended quests). I also have the [APTITUDE SCRUTINY] test, where I have to pass my A-Level exams, this quest leading directly concurrent with the University Adversity questline. However, I'm early game, so I want to know what quests more, or less experienced players have.

I feel like my in-game skills aren't leveling up the way I intended. Every time I try to make the right quest decision, it's like I've missed a crucial in-game event or time. Picking up on the non-verbal signals from other players is a challenge; it's like I'm missing a key gameplay tutorial. This is starting to affect my co-op campaigns. I know my character isn't devoid of the empathy skill, nor is he entirely low on the emotional intelligence stat. I just aim to grind for the titles: Reliable Husband, Trustworthy Friend, Devoted Son, Loyal Brother. But it seems those achievements remain locked. Most of my guild members have gone inactive or only send occasional in-game messages. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong in this gameplay, but I'm certain I'm not leveling up in the right skills.

Lately, my co-op partner and I have been encountering frequent in-game disagreements. It's about certain quest items and emotional boosts she needs. I know she's not demanding high-tier loot or rare items, yet it feels like my efforts don't meet the quest requirements. She often mentions that after every patch where I vow to adjust my gameplay, I only manage to sustain the improved performance for about two in-game weeks. Post that, I revert to my old gameplay tactics which always trigger the dispute cutscenes. After one such event today, she inquired if I'd undertake the cooking side quest, recalling my earlier indication of it. Seeing her in-game character sprite brighten up and that genuine smile animation, I realized I couldn't log off early. While my in-game morale remains low, the thought of aborting the quest chain entirely is something I can't action on now.

I can’t get rid of the arrogant buff…debuff >_<.

I keep thinking I’m god’s greatest gift on earth. It’s very annoying. The most annoying part is that is caused me to give unsolicited advice.

Frankly, the hardest part is knowing “when” I’m being delusional. (Sigh)

Help.

Player experience seems to be better in those servers than pretty much anywhere else (except maybe [New Zealand]). Do they just have better admins? Is there something in the water over there? Why can't my server [Australia] be more like them?
