Outstanding flatfooting from Nic Gareiss! Not sure if this version of speed the plow is old time or irish. Anyway, good stuff.

Matt Gordon (fiddler on the right) wrote this tune. Fun jam tune!

Check out the 'overhand' guitar playing. In the interview segment he mentions thumbs carlile, another overhand player. There's some debate about Creed Birchfield's banjo style, but it looks to be some kind of two finger style and not clawhammer.

Molsky sounding great here, and Ale Möller is really an interesting player with his harmony parts and nordic mandola, a fascinating instrument.

2 hours is a long time so there's some change in personnel, maybe around 26:00 or so

Is this a crooked tune or what? Apparently in GDGC tuning. This ed haley version sounds pretty close, not sure if its the source or not.

A great jam tune. I like the feel on this version. Jane Rothfield on fiddle and Hilarie Burhans on banjo. Sugarpie's patreon page has more info. Source on this tune I think is Nile Wilson

From way back in 1994. David Winston on banjo and Kevin Enoch on guitar. Norman Edmonds source

Tall Poppy has some pretty cool arranged versions of old time tunes. Here's the (likely) source

knee to knee twin fiddles on this Marcus Martin tune.

Just a cool tune from their Old Sledge album. Fun-to-play A part, some might say excessively twisty B part. It is a puzzle!

Great tune, and Dan Gellert playing some really cool fiddle seconding on this one. Another recording of them playing it from back in 1993.

Twin fiddles of Rhys Jones and Cleek Schrey are locked in. Lots of closeups of John Herrman's banjo work in this vid. More info re the pickup band bigfoot

Nice version of this tune, which I think originates with Benny Thomasson, couldn't find the source recording of that though. Old time cello!

Looks like they're keeping the numbers down in that jam by wedging themselves between two cars 😄

As far as I can tell, it has nothing to do with the Irish tune of the same name.

Kim Johnson on banjo, Jesse Pearson on fiddle. Rest of the album is great too.

45

Kim Johnson on banjo, and I think Cody Jordan on fiddle.

46

and Steve Arkin banjo, Erica Weiss guitar.

47

Great version of this classic jam tune.

That's Trisha Spencer and Howard Rains on fiddles; Kellie Allen and Pete Peterson (of the Orpheus Supertones) on guitar and banjo.

This tune has become a standard in my area. Its apparently from Nacogdoches Tx, which is not far from Louisiana - definitely has a cajun flavor to it.

Bluesy version of Shanghai Rooster. Going on my to learn list! Check out that vibrato from Ben Hunter.

Chance McCoy on fiddle, Adam Hurt banjo. Rockin version of this tune!
