At Cingino Dam - located 7 kilometres (4 mi) southwest of Antrona Schieranco, Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in Piedmont, Italy - you will find some Alpine ibex wild goats climbing its wall. The Cingino Dam is just about vertical. It is 160 feet high and these wild goats climb almost to the top of it. This species of goat lives in the European Alps, it has split hooves with rubber like soles. They are exceptional climbers...but to see them climb this vertical wall is absolutely stunning! Why would they do it? Their diet, which consists mostly of grass, gives them a major salt craving. Coincidentally, the wall of Italy's Cingino Dam is built with salt encrusted stones - with the really good, salty stone blocks near the top of the dam. So in order to get to these mineral rich salts, these goats do what looks to be impossible...they climb a vertical wall

This zoomable picture of the Andromeda galaxy has insane detail. It really impressed me with the crazy amount of stars visible once you fully zoom in. And that is just a small section of one galaxy! Made me realise how unfathomable the total amount of stars in the universe really is

A Sumatran orangutan in Indonesia has self-medicated using a paste made from plants to heal a large wound on his cheek, say scientists.

It is the first time a creature in the wild has been recorded treating an injury with a medicinal plant.

After researchers saw Rakus applying the plant poultice to his face, the wound closed up and healed in a month.

This is clever. But in a way, it's also shifting the environmental impact from these bottle caps. I can't imagine under which conditions the birds' may be a problem (e.g. getting too much food). Maybe someone with better knowledge on these species can tell if there could be a downside (no matter how improbable, just the risk of X). Such risk may include the interaction through second or third organisms (e.g. lack of seed spread, abundance of parasitic prokaryotr, etc.)

Biological question aside, anyway... This is so cool! I'd like to try building one myself ;)
