For the love of it, why don't the rock / gravel hauls have to cover their loads? They all have covers on their trucks and trailers. Is it that hard to push the button or manually move the damn thing into place before driving +70mph on 84 with an overfilled load sandblasting the hell out of everyone?

ISP why aren't you out there pulling these a-holes over? You know damn good and well that they are over weight or at a minimum causing unsafe conditions. Do your damn job!

This morning, a hauler turned onto to the westbound onramp at Orchard, spilled large rocks and gravel all over the place nearly hitting my car as I waited at the light, then proceeded to litter the road with rocks, one of which was kicked up by the car in front of me, hitting my windshield and put the 5th chip in it. This is the 3rd replacement on this car all due to rocks on the highway. My truck is on its second with the first replacement getting nailed less than two months after replacing it.

Cover your damn loads!!! That is all. Have a nice weekend.

EDIT: There is a proposed house bill. https://legislature.idaho.gov/sessioninfo/2025/legislation/h0020/

Line 33 (section B) drops the 6" freeboard exemption therefore covers any material that can be blown off the load. We need to rally to get this pushed through!! For the love of our windshields!!

Lately we’ve had a ton of pest control salespeople knocking on our door—sometimes multiple times a week. Most are super persistent, even after we tell them we already have a company (who luckily doesn’t door knock 😅).

But it’s getting old. Some have come during dinner, one banged on the door while our kids were asleep. I get they’re trying to hustle, but it feels more invasive than helpful.

Anyone figured out a polite but effective way to get these guys to stop? "No Soliciting" signs don’t seem to phase them anymore.

Original Title: COMPASS is running a study on high-capacity transit from Boise to Caldwell. They are currently looking at three different transit routes and will choose one to connect the region: commuter rail using Boise Depot, bus rapid transit, or a I-84 commuter bus. They are taking comments through June 29.

I realize this isn't Boise-specific, but in light of the increasing censorship, roadblocks for educators, and small library budgets, I thought many here in Idaho might be interested.

I have these cards (because I lived there for several years--I'm hella past 26 LMAO). Their digital catalog of ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines is one of the most extensive in the world--I almost never fail to find the audiobooks I want through them, and their waits are far shorter than smaller libraries.

In case anyone isn't familiar with Libby, it's a free app that lets you check out digital media through any US library you have a card for.

Seems like the DNS server is down for century link. If you switch to "8.8.8.8" or use a vpn your internet will work https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/how-and-why-to-change-your-dns-server scroll half way down to the actual instructions

It’s out of control. Cars just zooming through 13th street like the speed limit isn’t 20mph. Hill road went from my favorite biking spot to an overcrowded raceway I now avoid. I get that nearly every road downtown is closed due to construction, but damn… driving like a maniac isn’t making it better for anyone.

I’ve accepted that the Boise I grew up in is never coming back, but I can’t help feeling like ‘Boise Kind’ is beginning to fade and it’s most noticeable on the roads.

I work downtown Boise and we went from 3 days in office/2 at home to full time back in office. I’m curious about companies in the treasure valley that are still allowing remote or hybrid work? Would love to know which ones!

I wanted to provide an update for anyone that saw my previous post about inpatient hospitals in the area. After many recommendations I ended up spending a few days at Cottonwood hospital. I found thr facility to be very nice and overall had a positive experience there. However, I did transfer to the smaller lesser known Lifeways hospital and they were AMAZING. The staff there truly saved my life and I could not be more grateful. I truly hope none if you ever need their services, but if you do please get help and I would get it at Lifeways.

Big congrats to Sal, Becca, and the entire AMANO crew! With Kris and KIN winning the category in 2023, Boise (and Idaho) are finally getting some well deserved recognition from the culinary community.

I'm born and raised idahoan. I know the horror stories we vets have from Iraq and other places over seas. When did we have naturally have wind scorpions/sun spider aka Camel spider in idaho. I know its desert and we have lots of things here. Why did it have to run out from my dresser under my chair. Flash backs or jump scare. All I know is when it ran past my feet while gaming I went back 2 feet in my chair. Just never knew they lived here.
