You abandoning lemmy completely or just the instance? If the former, will you be going back to reddit or avoiding this format completely?

Yes. Anarchism. Check the comm you're in.

Snobbish Prussians getting absolutely clapped multiple times will never stop being funny.

They have no problem with monopoly of violence, as long as it's "voluntary", by which of course they mean economically coerced.

Absolutely not. libright would be something like communick

I personally love emergent gameplay and emergent storylines, however I am not into TTRPGs anymore. Blighted Reach seems like it would create an amazing emergent multi-generational storyline around a mechanically tight and enjoyable BG and I think that sounds awesome!

Unfortunately never in the history has this turned out well against a fascist dictator. The Greek communist partisans from ww2 resistance did the same gesture of goodwill to rebuild the nation, at which point the liberals aligned with the ex Nazi collaborators protected by the allies to exterminate them, leading to a brutal Civil War.

I hope it works out for them, but I don't trust the Turkish state whatsoever to not immediately betray them and initiate apogrom against a now defenseless faction

It just so happens that hexbears never comment on any flippanarchy posts which reach /all, unless it's a post going against "left unity". Funny how that works.

Please don't align me with neolibs. Anyway, hexbears always become salty when one goes against left unity, and consider it "bait" even when one does it in their own comms. Then come in and demand a debate and when you refuse to engage, they proceed to bad faith ridicule and bullying in a misguided attempt of shaming people who don't swallow the campist Kool-aid.

Hey peeps, do you have some lemmy instances that you think are cool? We maintain an endorsement list on the fediseer which has gotten a bit stale lately so I think it would be cool to endorse some of the new instances popping up to help raise awareness about their existence and reward admins doing a good job.

I thought I'd just add some myself, but why take all the responsibility myself when we can crowdsource it? pirate captain hugging a treasure chest

So if you have any fediverse instances (not just lemmy!) you think our instance should be endorsing, please do mention them here, along with the reasons why (see the other examples in our endorsements).

I've had this game on my wishlist for a while, since I saw the demo via gamingonlinux, but I haven't found the time to buy and play it yet. Found this post-mortem insteresting.

Hey peeps, the well-known spam problem in lemmy DMs is getting slightly worse, and the spammer in question is evolving their tactics to evade the very rudimentary options we have built-in to lemmy itself (or should I just call it,non-existent?). To get ahead of this, we deployed a DM-scanner directly in the DB, based off of this code but adjusted so that it's more difficult to pull off shenanigans.

At the moment we're only deleting messages based on the "fediverse chick" spam. However I want to point out that if for some reason you legitimately DM someone on dbzer0 with similar terms, you DM might get deleted, so do be aware about that. Them's the breaks.

Unfortunately I can't reveal the exact code I'm using atm, as this can lead to the spammer adjusting their tactics to evade it. However I plan to adjust threativore to also be able to manage your DB anti-DM-spam filters in the future, to make it much easier to handle this, even if you don't feel confident touching your DB. Stay tuned.

I do hope we get more robust anti-spam tech in lemmy and I did open two issues about this, but it seems this is not a prio atm.

If you realize that the anti-spam ate a DM. Do let us know. If you see spam getting through, also let us know.

There's a few open solicitations. Please take a look and guarantee for whoever doesn't look like spam to improve the health of the chain.

I should arrange somehow so that the newest instance to be guarantee'd automatically gets pinged when someone solicits one, just to keep things going as nobody pays attention.

I just had to share this with someone else.

Looks like they got banned shortly after.
