Yes it’s proprietary idk why I phrased it like that. I should’ve said I fall back to proprietary services like iMessage, then if that’s not possible I go to unencrypted proprietary services like discord etc. My b

  1. I keep my options open. I default to signal or matrix if that’s available, then my fall back is iMessage which I run on a macOS vm, and finally id relent to proprietary services like discord, groupme, etc. I minimize my communications on unencrypted and non-private channels, and only talk about benign things there if I have to use them. But I don’t let my commitment to privacy completely isolate me, I know my threat model and change behaviors depending on the environment.

  2. My banking and money transfer apps all work under grapheneos in a user account with Google play services installed. I mostly manage these things on my computer though to minimize tracking and remove the need for safetycheck compatibility before it ever comes up.

  3. I never use these services but pretty sure they also work on Graphene with sandboxed Google play services installed

  4. Other users have posted programs to convert these coordinates on the fly, I have never needed those personally. When I need GPS I usually go for Organic Maps but thinking of switching to OSMAnd+ soon

  5. Yes and this is an area where I need to improve my privacy more. I just use the garmin connect app with a garmin fitness tracker I got for cheap. I think it partially supports gadgetbridge so I might look into that but haven’t had the time to investigate.

  6. Pixel+Graphene is really the gold standard for privacy, security, and compatibility. I’ve heard ok stuff about CalyxOS so that’s worth checking out. Also FairPhone devices tend to have good support for custom ROMs like Calyx and /e/os which are degoogled, but I don’t have personal experience with those so definitely research those topics before making any decisions

“People are surprised, they become indignant. They say: "How strange! But never mind-it's Nazism, it will pass!" And they wait, and they hope; and they hide the truth from themselves, that it is barbarism, but the supreme barbarism, the crowning barbarism that sums up all the daily barbarisms; that it is Nazism, yes, but that before they were its victims, they were its accomplices; that they tolerated that Nazism before it was inflicted on them, that they absolved it, shut their eyes to it, legitimized it, because, until then, it had been applied only to non-European peoples; that they have cultivated that Nazism, that they are responsible for it, and that before engulfing the whole of Western, Christian civilization in its reddened waters, it oozes, seeps, and trickles from every crack.”

Ubuntu isn’t necessarily backdoored, but they have made some questionable decisions that violate people’s privacy and ability to audit them. Specifically, years ago they added a “feature” which was on by default where your system search would also query amazon at the same time. Which was shitty and anti privacy obviously, so they took it out after community pushback. An ongoing problem though is with their own packaging format, snaps. The client side snap software is open source, but it only interacts with the official canonical snap repository which is entirely closed source on the backend. This opens up the possibility of back doors in snap and snap applications, as well as invasive analytics and other spying. Mint doesn’t include any of this shit so id say its safe and clean

It should be noted that many laptops with core boot allow you to disable intel ME, such as those from System76 and other Linux hardware vendors. You can also do this yourself either by flashing a custom UEFI like coreboot/libreboot/etc or by using a tool like me_cleaner.

I did this a couple years ago on a think pad t480 using the me_cleaner method and a ch341a programmer. But nowadays that same laptop has libreboot support which is even better. Either way check if your hardware can be modified this way because it grants that extra level of security and privacy

They’re mad because people of color and women are present and they don’t want to be reminded that the world doesn’t revolve around white men

I’ve got two. Swimming in the deep ocean more than a few feet from a boat, I can’t help but think of sea monsters and sharks coming from the murky depths. Second is getting my throat cut. Idk why it just seems like the most horrific way to go for me. I recall getting a haircut when I was about 19 where the barber used a straight razor to line my hair up and shave my facial hair, and that shit had me shaking on the way out from how nervous the blade against my neck got me.

Nazis tend to support Zionism since it’s an example of the type of fascist ethnostate they wish to establish, and also accomplishes their antisemitic goals of removing Jewish people from their population by creating a designated place for them. They are aware of the contradictions but that’s never stopped them before

Warmongering fuck trying to counter Trump’s expansionist arctic colonialism with his own. Good thing this guy is all rhetoric by the looks of things. But Jesus Christ there is no place for this reactionary hawkish mindset in a nuclear world, find another place for your arctic bases because every conflict with a “great” power brings us right up to the brink of hell.

It might be pedestrian to the people living there but ofc I’m gonna be astonished by actual infrastructure and development lol. It’s very impressive and beautiful
