Sorry not sure why it wants to rotate the picture. Got to play Check Your 6 this weekend d and had a great time, was my first ever game of CY6. Scenario was (I believe) Milk run to Malta. Played on the British side attempting to stop Italian bombers from destroying the airfield at Malta. The game started off with a bang when a green British pilot managed to ram the ace Italian pilot killing both. British narrowly won after all the bombers were shot down but one, who missed their bombs on the airfield and was promptly shot down by the airfields AA installations

Went into my local store to kill some time and I was quite surprised to find Atlantic Chase on the shelves! For 5$ cheaper than the GMT website as well, not to mention I saved 21$ in shipping costs. Anyone played this one yet?

Damn I felt that one lol. Trying to get multiple adults who all have full time jobs and kids schedules to line up is literally impossible. I have straight up given up on it

I remember when I first played all the enemies just immediately attacked Gale or whoever was the weakest. It was pretty brutal to keep Gale alive lol

That's how corporations view us peasants. As their property that they are entitled too.

Well for me it's taken a long time since I can only play in about 15-30 min increments since I've got a kid. However I'd say an experienced player(s) would probably take about 4-6 hours? Definitely something you could finish in one day if you started early enough. Definitely faster than some of the more heavy wargames that's for sure.

Just set up my new copy of War of the Ring. Never played before so I'll be learning as I play. On my big table I have Death in the Trenches set up but I'm almost done with that. Once that's done I'll be replacing it with Pacific War, I'm also playing that online with a group but nothing beats the physical game!

Thought I'd do a small after action report for my current game. Just ended turn 13 or spring of 1917 and this is where things stand.

In the western front you have major news as the United States has officially joined the war! However that is where the good news ends. The German offensives are still paused while Russia and Italy is dealt with but the Entente continues to throw themselves at the German lines over and over with no gain or change in territory. Meanwhile the Italians crumble after making major gains in Austria-Hungry they have been nearly completely repealed and pushed back to their own borders with the German 12th army now making way to Italy itself.

In the East the German and Austrian advance has come to a near stop as Russia finally begins to place themselves in advantageous positions to defend though not without heavy losses and revolution is right around the corner....

In the "near East" Gallipoli was a complete success! The Ottomans having been stretched thin from the Russians and numerous disastrous offensives could not muster a credible defense and now finds Constantinople itself threatened!

After reading how much everyone loves War of the Ring and having it recommended to me multiple times I decided to see if I could find it at a local store and avoid Amazon. Lucky for me my main store I use had 1 copy!

Artificer was one of my most fun characters I ever played. Getting to come up with fun flavors for my spells as inventions was such a blast. Really helped pull me into some great role playing too.

For anyone scrolling by I decided to be the change I want to see and created a new hex and counter community. If you have any interest in wargaming particularly hex and counter style swing by! https://lemmy.world/c/hexandcounter

What wargames are on your table this month?

I'm going to miss r/hexandcounter. Wargaming is already a niche genre of boardgaming and the hex and counter is even further niche
