They totally are.

I wonder why these people keep watching Dr Who if it's so "inappropriate" for them. It's not like this is the first character to break their narrow worldview either. Captain Jack would fuck anything that moves, Bill was gay, and Nardole was a robot.

I think elements of it were a bit on the nose and preachy, but on the other hand, I guess there are a lot of people who still need to be preached at.
