Not too surprising that they are relying on those tricks to get people back on it. There are no real deals on there, anything interesting to watch is always an upsell and the two-day shipping has been flaky. I canceled because I wasn't sure I was getting any value out of it anymore and it was just causing me to spend more money with them.

Is there a good alternative to Amazon? I don’t like how high the price for Prime has become, I don’t use the video service much, and shipping is hit or miss. Plus most products are some generic Chinese brand.

This is a summary of the posted article (I'm a bot).

F.T.C. Sues Amazon for Inducing Users to Subscribe to Prime. lawsuit was the first time that the Federal Trade Commission under chair Lina Khan has taken Amazon to court. The lawsuit is part of a larger effort by regulators to limit the power of tech giants including Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft and Meta, Facebook’s parent company. Customers last year spent $35 billion on Amazon subscriptions, primarily Prime memberships, according to the company's financial disclosures. The agency said Amazon made it hard for consumers to find the page that allowed them to cancel the service.

How do I work?
