There’s a creature or creatures talking outside where i live and i’d like to learn a bit more about them. Does anybody know how to tell coyote/fox/coydog/similar dudes apart or have a source for what what the different kinds of calls might mean? They’re not exactly the same as the ones I’ve heard before, so now I’m curious.

A fox sounds like a woman or child screaming in the night. It's a very unsettling sound to hear.

Coyotes have a very high pitched dog-like sound. Typically I've always heard them in groups yipping and howling, almost like a group laughing type of sound.

Foxes are very distinct. It sounds like a child screaming. It's horrible. Google "fox mating call".
