I'm starting to wonder where he's heading with this.

As long as they stay happy, I'm fine with it - it'd be sort of neat to watch them grow old together.

But every chapter sort of feels like a cliffhanger...

Same. I hope the trauma has been overcome and that fluff is the only thing remaining.
