“When it comes to transgender issues, Ms. Bob Davis doesn’t mind being the poster child.”

“A new exhibit at the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum — A ‘Pride of Transgender Posters’ — was put together by curator Matthew Goodrum from a collection of Davis. This exhibit runs simultaneously with ‘The Fabulous Art of Adolfo Alcala Manuel’ — a Vallejo artist and drag performer who died in early March of this year.”

“The exhibits opened up just moments after the museum raised flags for the LGBTQIA2S+ community with Pride month kicking off on Sunday. The exhibit features 59 posters (another eight will be added on Tuesday) from a Davis collection that began in 1979.”

“During Donald Trump’s first presidential term, many trans people talked about leaving the country, according to Sydney Duncan, a lawyer for Advocates for Trans Equality, the country’s largest transgender rights group. However, few people actually did.”

“But while an increasing number of trans people are deciding to leave the United States, Duncan cautioned that it still isn’t a widespread trend.”

“‘The reality is that a lot of people of trans experience don’t have the resources to travel or to escape the policies of this administration,’ Duncan said.”

A new amendment proposed by the Parliament of the U.K. could put the data privacy of trans people at risk. The proposed amendment would alter the way the U.K.’s Data (Use and Access) Bill would allow data on sex and gender to be collected, according to reports from Pink News.
