Has anyone found a solution to remove/hide the top white bar in Samsung Dex for any browser? I'm trying to use the XReal Glasses and want to zoom in when watching a movie/TV show but can't remove the top bar which is really annoying

This is more of a rambling statement.

So as i try and move to something less power hungry than my main video editing PC, I have a crossroad of Docking my very small laptop, even smaller than most netbooks and not as powerful, or DEX, which i recently discovered.

With the addition of a Peltier cooler, my phone runs much cooler, and it can be powered by the small USB-C hub i have got.

Mostly using DEX to play games to be honest. Nice to have Android versions of games on a big screen.

So i realised, its an hour to midnight, I need to send pictures that i took of various surveys to various people. Pictures are on my phone, email is best from desktop. Urgh. Have to wake my desktop up, get a data cable to transfer the images (which takes forever as browsing the SD card folder on windows is a pain).

Then i rememberer "Wait, DEX has Gmail on it".

BOOM! Just opened up Gmail, wrote and formatted the emails with a nice big screen, a nice keyboard and mouse AND my pictures are right there on my device to send. All without having to unplug my “gaming” DEX Setup.

In the words of Kronk, It's all coming together.

I’m seriously considering buying a new Mac Mini M3 16GB when it hits the market, because my (early-2020) MacBook Air i5 8/256 feels so slow when it’s plugged to a 4K monitor.

On the other hand, my Fold 3 works great in the DeX mode. If they added dual monitor support, I wouldn’t even need to buy a Mac.

Are there any rumors that Samsung will add this feature?

Recently my laptop kicked the bucket and I'm trying to replace it with my tab s8. I paired it with an ultrawide dell monitor for productivity work and even though it works well compatibility and resolution wise, the UI is often so messed up where some things are huge while others are ridiculously small, even the adjustment settings don't help at all. Some of my questions are: 1- what's the best setup hardware you've found (monitors, Kbm, sound system, etc.) 2- does anyone knows if there are any kind of modified launchers that work with dex and allow greater customization 3- which apps have you found to be really valuable whether for productivity purposes or to improve the overall dex experience 4 - were you successful at using it as a pc replacement or is it not good enough

Feel free to comment any other relevant informations regarding using dex as a pc.

I'm going to college for a associates in network technology. I'm unemployed and living with my father due to a couple chronic health issues temporarily. I will be buying a chromebook or something cheap once I get the leftover kickback they do not use for this semester whenever that is. I have a S21 FE and would be using a usb dock with a mouse and keyboard hooked up to a TV(yes I know I should get a moniter but i only have the 500 I got from last year's taxes to dip into and a pc+ moniter would eat more than half probably. I know this function is targeted to business management so I assume it has some pc type functionality?

I have tried most of the remote desktop software, and none of them ever support shortcuts like Win+D. Teamviewer, Parsec, etc.

Moonlight works.

It has two downsides tho:

1. Difficult to set up. If you are using display card other than Nvidia, you will have to use Sunshine as the host client. Port forwarding also takes some time to work out - the instruction is pretty clear, but there are many steps.
2. No multi-window support. IMO this is usually not an issue with Dex.

The best remote desktop software for the other use case is Parsec if you don't need keyboard shortcuts.

Hi all. Got myself a Tab S7FE with the keyboard, im using a Razer BT mouse and I love it. Im using it for work, and love the work profile side of things. However, the tablet will be in DEX mode all the time if I can help it and I cant seem to find a way to disable or turn off Work Profile. It's conneted to my apps and my colleagues may think im still working. IS there a way to turn it off? The settings menu is greyed out. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I can turn work profile on or off when not in DEX, Via quick settings, but thers is no icon in DEX for this. This really is what I want.

Why on earth is the nexdock 300$???? It's a screen a keyboard a touchpad and a hinge it has no reason to be so expensive. The upcharge has to be the issue because there is no way making that is that expensive. I'd be able to buy a real laptop cheaper

Hello again!

So my friend has an all in one monitor he wants to get rid of and offered it to me. However my question is since the monitor itself utilizes Windows 11 if i were to use Dex on it would I be able to use just standard Dex or would I have to go through the windows app?

I believe the monitor has USB c input with power output. Thanks!

You can directly open real Windows when you launch Motorola Ready For on the Lenovo ThinkPhone.

Samsung, at least please consider adding an "Easy Connect to Windows" function (the one from your smart monitors) in the next OneUI 6.
