She dips into the can paint with a brush and writes on a board leaning on a crate. She says,"This will really help my business"

She stands up and looks at the board. She exclaims,"There! That should do it!"

She stands next to the crate smiling. A baking rests on it and the sign reads,'Mudpies like Mother used to Make'.

Charlie Brown is in his swim trunks wading out in the water. He says,"This will really impress Violet and Patty!"

He is in the water up to his shoulders. He says,"I'll stand clear out here where the water comes up to my chin..."

He listens questioningly as the girls appear on the beach and Violet asks,"What's that floating in the water, Patty?" Patty replies,"Maybe we should call the lifeguard..."

He grimaces as one of them concludes, "I'll bet it's a beachball!"

Patty stands in front of Shermy sitting on the curb, wearing his baseball mitt. He says,"Our baseball rolled down the sewer!"

She peers down the sewer ask he crouches next to her and replies,"Charlie Brown is down there now trying to find it..."

She stands over Shermy as he looks at eyes peering out at him from the sewer. He asks,"Did you find the ball, Charlie Brown?"

He continues,"Or aren't you Charlie Brown?"

He stoops next to Schroeder and continues,"C'mon, Schroeder, smile...you can do it" Schroeder raises his eyebrows.

As he smiles, Charlie Brown exclaims, "He did it! He's smiling!! He's smiling at me!"

They both look at the reader, and Charlie Brown concludes,"Gee! I feel like a father!"

She walks up to them and Schroeder turns towards her. She replies,"No, he doesn't walk yet either..."

Charlie Brown concludes,"Gee, this gives me a great feeling of superiority!"

As he walks off behind her, Charlie Brown asks,"Schroeder?! Who's he?" She replies,"He lives next door....c'mon, I'll introduce you"

She points to a baby sitting on the floor and says,"Here he is! Say something to him" Charlie Brown replies,"I don't know what to say..."

As Schroeder smiles up at him, he turns to Patty and concludes,"I always feel so uncomfortable near children!"

As the ball swishes by him, he exclaims,"Rats!"

He looks at Shermy through the tennis-net and concludes,"One point if you hit the ball, two points if you get it over the net!"

As Snoopy continues his antics, Charlie Brown says,"Get away! There's not enough candy for both of us!"

He falls on the ground and continues,"Stop it! Get away!!"

As Snoopy smacks his lips and eats the candy, he sits up and says,"I knew there wasn't enough for both of us!"
