Brazilian authorities announced Wednesday the South American country's formal decision to join South Africa's lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), accusing Israel of genocide against the Palestinian people.

Itamaraty said in a statement that the government was outraged by “recurring episodes of violence against the civilian population in the State of Palestine,” extending beyond the Gaza Strip to the West Bank.

“The suspects were identified and arrested… at the Tomorrowland festival… they were formally interrogated and released. The Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that a criminal investigation is now underway.”

This is a great step forward in the realm of International Law and holding war criminals accountable for their crimes in real time. A “reservists organization” is intending to pay for the accuseds’ legal fees, signaling this is indeed moving forward in the justice system.

From my understanding, the Israelis in question are not barred from travel, but the fact that this is entering court systems in Europe is an unprecedented step forward toward accountability for the atrocities being administered daily in Gaza by Israeli forces and their global network of enablers.

I just want to commend The Hind Rajab Foundation and the Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) and thank all of their hard-working volunteers seeking Justice and Dignity for the Palestinian people. I hope to see this movement spread beyond Brazil and Belgium and upward towards the seats of power that are enabling and partaking actively in the Palestinian Holocaust.

Israel’s Knesset have approved a motion calling for the annexation of the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, the latest move in an ongoing campaign to strengthen Israel's hold on the occupied Palestinian territory.

The proposal is non-binding and serves largely as a symbolic gesture that does not affect the legal status of the West Bank but will help build momentum towards a possible move on the territory, which has been occupied by Israel since 1967.

A leading global authority on famine on Monday accused Israel of orchestrating a carefully planned campaign of mass starvation in the Gaza Strip, remarks that came amid a steadily rising death toll from malnutrition caused by the 654-day U.S.-backed Israeli siege and obliteration of the Palestinian enclave.

"I've been working on this topic for more than four decades, and there is no case since World War II of starvation that is being so minutely designed and controlled," Alex de Waal, executive director of the World Peace Foundation at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, told Al Jazeera.

Translations of the two images:

The proposed master plan constitutes a comprehensive and strategic response to the vision of renewing Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip, while emphasizing Zionist, economic, and security values. The plan shapes a vital, functioning, and connected space, integrated into the southern region and unique due to its geographical location and inherent economic and security potential.
Program components include:

Establishing two central cities in the north and south, with advanced and balanced urban planning that includes approximately 300,000 housing units and a population of over a million residents.

A leading university research center in the fields of agriculture and maritime affairs, for 25,000 students.

A modern high-tech and commercial park, spanning 4,800 dunams and offering thousands of jobs.

An industrial zone in the south, near the Egyptian border, with direct access to the Mediterranean Sea and opening up land and sea trade opportunities.

A coastal tourist complex that will include a strip of hotels, resort villages and water sports activities.

An advanced agricultural zone that will continue agricultural development in the Negev and the area surrounding Gaza.

Green areas around the Besor River that are integrated with tourism, recreation and extreme sports activities.

The plan is based on guiding principles of security and economic advancement, and its purpose is to form a solid foundation for Jewish prosperity and stability in the entire region.

As a first step and out of thinking about practical ways to implement a national settlement plan, the Nahla movement acted, as is customary in Zionist realization throughout the generations, and began immediately after the outbreak of the war, by forming settlement nuclei for aliyah to the land.

Currently, there are over 1,000 families registered in 6 settlement nuclei who are ready to immigrate to the area immediately under pioneering conditions.

Absorption and exit mechanisms have already been successfully tested in other areas, and can also be implemented in Gaza.
Conclusion

The migration of the Gazan population is not "collective punishment" – but a humane and effective solution.

This is a familiar mechanism in protracted conflicts, which has made it possible to restore human lives, reduce the extent of suffering – and lead to long-term stability.

After October 7, the Gazan population was denied the legitimacy to continue living in this space —

In light of involvement, support, or silence in the face of unprecedented atrocities.

The expulsion of the civilian population – by choice and/or as part of an arrangement –

It is a necessary step in clearing the battlefield and transforming it into a space for life, agriculture, industry, tourism, and Jewish settlement.

Hardline America Firster and staunch Trump supporter Marjorie Taylor Greene voted alongside progressive Democrat Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar to strip Israel of $500m in US funding, hours after it bombed the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza.

The House of Representatives, however, rejected in a 422-6 vote on Thursday, to cut funding for the Israeli Cooperative Program - an agreement through which the US provides Israel with $500m to boost its missile programmes.

It is a separate allocation from the $3.3bn the US sends Israel as "security assistance" every year.
