What are some advice to taking this course?

I am very slow at understanding and I don’t understand the concept at all.

These are both for non-majors. Anyone have any experience with either?

Hi! I'm a freshman and am currently undecided as to what I want to major in. I love math and all sciences, and was considering majoring in either chemistry, physics, or math. I wanted to know what it was like majoring in chemistry at Hunter, so if anyone has been/is currently in the process I would appreciate any insight (class difficulty, assignments format, what finals look like? etc.)!

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions about the process and application. For those who got accepted to the master's program, what did your application consist of (GPA, Volunteer/Internships if possible)? I feel nervous that I might not get in due to the competition. Hunter is #1 for me cost-wise and education-wise. I completed my bachelor's in Psychology with a Clinical Psychology focus with a 3.6 GPA. The only volunteer work I have is a crisis text line. Is there anyone that got in with no experience? Or lower grades? (Dropped classes, WU, C, D?). I have a WU in the first year 2 C 1 D, the rest in the As (-A,A,+A)

Hi so I just wanna preface this by saying this is not a jab at anyone AT ALL. There's no one way to write or do an assignment, this is just my experience. So I am a freshman and I am in a mandatory writing class, but what feels like my blood sweat and tears in an assignment, ends in B's and C's and A minus. I don't know about the taboos on what you can ask your professor but I have yet to find out what I am doing wrong on my assignments since we don't get them back. Anyways, on blackboard, I am able to see my peers assignments, and they all vary a LOT. While some people are writing near essays, others write a simple paragraph and submit. I'm not friends with my peers and even if I was, it feels rude to off the bat ask someone how they are doing in the class. Can someone please tell me they feel the same way? Or have gone through something like this and how they got better.

Do we have a Model United Nations? if not why not?

I been googling and I know we have a team before but after 2013 it bassicly vanished. I searched the class on CUNY and basicly the classes stoped in 2016. With a few google searches you can see that Hunter Model UN was pretty prominent and won a few titles. So why did it just stop?

If anyone knows please let me know

I didn’t take any classes fall 2023. Do I have to apply for readmission? Does it indicate anywhere on cunyfirst?

Do I need to activate my id to be allowed to enter other CUNY library? It’s so hard to find a seat with tables in the library so I’m just thinking of going to other libraries to do work.

Hi! If I dropped a course and received a W. Then I retake the course again, will the new grade replace the W or on my transcript it shows both the W and the new grade?

Thank you

To whoever has taken pre-calc, I was wondering how many questions are on the exams? I’m taking it soon and was wondering, would it be a lot of questions or not. Also will there be multiple choices?

How is the Hunter film program?

For anyone who took Chen 102 did you guys have it on paper or online because I would personally prefer it on paper but I’m not sure how it is done

This tuesday** or what does this mean?

I want to drop a class but idk if it’s gonna show on my transcript at this point of time. The Hunter calendar said 9/14 was the last day to drop without it showing. Is there a way I can talk to them and get it to now show. I don’t have an advisor yet as I’m a freshman.

Hi! I'm planning on applying to SSSW soon and I just wanted to ask to those of you who attend there already, what kind of experience did you include in your CV?

I’ve been away for the first 3 weeks of school so one of my professors gave me a WN. He said he’s going to dispute it since I attended yesterday. But my financial aid got revised so when will it go back to normal? I don’t know how the process goes so if anyone has experience let me know.

Hey, y'all. One of my close friends and I are looking for a potential 3rd-4th roommate. The budget we've decided on per person is $900/month. We're primarily looking at the following neighborhoods in each borough

Brooklyn: Bed Stuy, Bushwick, Crown Heights,

Queens: Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Woodside, Sunnyside, Astoria

Manhattan: Harlem, El Barrio (East Harlem), Washington Heights, Chinatown

Both of us are neat freaks so we'll handle most/all of the cleaning in any common areas.

We would slightly prefer any Queer/BIPOC because we are both, but anyone with an open mind is welcome. We really don't care who you bring over or what you do with your room as long as you're not breaking the law in the process. If you have a guarantor, that would be nice but it's not a requirement.

Any fees associated with moving into a new apartment (security deposit, first and last month's rent, etc.) will be covered by us. We just ask that your portion of the rent be ready to be sent when you move in. We're aiming for a mid-late October move-in, but if the spare is available after that date, we're willing to accommodate.

If you have any questions, shoot me a DM and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hi there! I’m a college junior at MHC Hunter and I really want to go to Silberman. I’m a clinical psychology major and I’m currently a RA at a psych lab where I do a lot of assisting and interaction with babies and parents. I also have counseling experience through Peer Health Exchange and am volunteering through one of those mental health apps to provide emotional support, and will start a RA job for a social work professor soon. I’d really love to work in medical clinical social work as one of parents has a disability and I’ve spent a lot of time watching my other parent advocate and take care of them, and I would like to do the same for chronically ill patients and patients with disabilities, and I also really am interested in maternal and baby social work as a product of my RA experience. I am working on getting some other relevant extracurriculars and more field experience (shadowing a social worker in a local hospital, interning in a social work setting etc). I’d really love to go to Silberman for the prestige and cost, and was wondering if anyone here has any tips on getting into the program at all? Does going to admissions event help?

Hey so I just finished my last classes last summer.. i wasnt really able to attend the Spring Ceremony since I was over the required credit I needed left to attend. Im trying to get in contact with the Commencement committee but I dont know how to? Registear office sent me an email address [email protected] but it doesnt work and says that “commencement is not found at hunter.cuny.edu”

Best thing I could think of is send an email to my advisor?

Im taking my prereqs for nursing at City Tech right now. Is it worth it for me to try and transfer to hunter for their nursing program? IF I get in, it would mean I would need another semester for my organic chemistry and other stuff that are required at hunter but not other places. Is the hunter nursing program worth it or should I stick it out at city tech? City Tech feels like a public highschool, I'm looking to get more serious. Or are all nursing programs serious and I should set my goal on City Tech because I'm already here?

Would love some input from transfer students and/or nursing students
