Interesting Point #1:

Meanwhile, critics of psi, who often know next to nothing about psi research, condemn the scientific work in this field out of fear of its philosophical implications. To date, paranormal events are unexplainable in man's view of nature. Much controversy exists as organized science and Western society quickly try to explain away very real paranormal events. The scientific community needs proof based on logical, analytical and quantitative analysis. Such scientific approaches to psychic research always leave room for skeptics to question the validity of conclusions. Yet, as someone once succinctly noted, "Just because it can't be proven doesn't mean it isn't so." Croesus was convinced! He didn't let lack of understanding prevent him from taking advantage of the capability. This highly skeptical Western attitude has greatly affected research efforts. Western researchers credibility is jeopardized because of the spiritual undertones associated with psychics. Jack Anderson's 1981 columns on "voodoo warfare" clearly demonstrated a cynical attitude by labeling such research as crazy.

Interesting Point #2:

Critics are saying, "The brass hats are, indeed, dabbling in the dark arts." Other carefully chosen phrases included "evil eye," "comic- strip," "Ouija board warriors" and "voodoo warriors”. Within weeks he returned to the subject by referring to "wacky projects" of the CIA, or studies "like a Haitian witch doctor might try".

Interesting Point #3:

The Soviet Union is well aware of the benefits and applications of parapsychology research... Many scientists, U.S. and Soviet, feel that parapsychology can be harnessed to create conditions where one can alter or manipulate the minds of others. The major impetus behind the Soviet drive to harness the possible capabilities of telepathic communication, telekinetics and bionics are [sic] said to come from the Soviet military and the KGB. Ebon uses extensive research to provide an in-depth account of parapsychology research in both the Soviet Union and the United States. In noting the dramatic increase in KGB security and control of Soviet parapsychology research, he concludes that "psychic warfare is something to fear". After returning from a visit to the Soviet Union as a guest of the U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences in September 1983, Russell Targ wrote, "Many Soviet laboratories appear to be conducting experiments in which their main goal is the modification of the behavior and feelings of remote humans and animals by psychic means".

Something really weird happend yesterday morning, I can't explain it. I already posted this in another threat and someone suggested I should post here as well.

I got up at 7:30 am and started my day. I picked out the clothes I wanted to wear, made myself a cup of tea and hopped under the shower. When I got out, I checked the time and realized it was already 7:53 am. I panicked a bit, because I needed to be out of the house at 8:15. So I got dressed and made my makeup. I listened music on my headphones in the meantime and I listened to at least seven or eight songs. (Important information for later)

After I was ready, I went into the kitchen to quickly feed my dog. I was just filling up his bowl, when I looked up to check the time on my kitchen clock. According to that clock it was only 7:55 am. I stopped what I was doing and grabbed my phone to confirm the time - and my phone also says 7:55 am.

So only two minutes have passed. But that is not possible. In those two minutes, I have made myself ready, made my makeup, listened to several songs all over two minutes long and fed my dog. After that, I felt pretty off. Has anybody experienced something similar?

Robert Monroe was a successful radio executive who unexpectedly began having profound out-of-body experiences in the 1950s. Rather than dismissing them, he explored these experiences deeply, keeping detailed records and eventually founding the Monroe Institute to study consciousness beyond the physical body.

His work opened new spiritual frontiers, suggesting that our awareness isn’t limited to the material world. Through his books, like Journeys Out of the Body, he shared methods for achieving these states, inspiring thousands to explore higher realms, non-physical dimensions, and the deeper nature of the soul.

There are countless thousands of stories involving people meeting otherworldly and supernatural beings and more everyday. They range from the brief and relatively boring to the bizarre and nightmarish. Mimics, skinwalkers, aliens, demons, shadow people, cryptids, etc.

With this in mind, do you ever think about the cases we don’t know of because the person was killed or taken elsewhere by whatever entity or force they encountered?

So many paranormal and otherworldly incidents are described as being malevolent and threatening in nature with the experiencer saying they didn’t know what was going to happen if they hadn’t escaped or avoided the threat. Surely some number of people who meet these malevolent forces fall victim to them and end up just one of innumerable missing person cases and unsolved deaths. If a being can easily slip in and out of our world then there’s nothing really stopping them from taking someone with them to wherever they come from or killing them and escaping. We only know the alien abduction stories from the people who come back. What about the people who decide to stay with the aliens or end up dying in horrific experiments? Humans routinely kill thousands of animals daily in experiments and think nothing of it so why would an alien species be exempt from the same mentality? It’s like the scene in Fire in the Sky when Travis sees that the spaceship is full of human corpses and captives.

Gnostic views are quite "strange" compared to mainstream religion. But the strangeness of reality seems quite well described in their writings, including in the poem perfect mind found in the Nag Hammadi text re-discovered in Egypt in 1945 after being hidden away after an attempt to erase Gnostic ideas from the early church despite Valentinus almost becoming Bishop of Rome.

Other Gnostics texts include: the nature of the rulers (talks about the archons), the secret gospel of John (which some scholarship suggests is older the gospel of John in the New Testament).

I posted on here about an abduction encounter I had with my dog a couple weeks ago. Figured I'd offer an update, in case anyone was curious. The weird shit only escalated after that night.

First Post: https://www.reddit.com/r/HighStrangeness/s/AQg02gyxaz

First Update: https://www.reddit.com/r/HighStrangeness/s/o0VJWiFqQJ

The next 48 hours were nuts... I felt like I was being swarmed by encounters, both UFO sightings and high strangeness. And the majority of it was actually positive... Couldn't help but feel like they were trying to offset some of the trauma they inflicted. Most of the sightings were lights in the sky that was appearing and disappearing randomly. Mostly at night. Not satellites. Some of them were appearing and disappearing directly overhead around midnight, and they seemed to be different colors. Too high for satellites to catch the sun, though. But less than 48 hours after the abduction, I had the most intense UFO sighting of my life. Structured craft, daylight sighting, and close. I think they passed within 100 feet of me, directly overhead. I've also been experiencing what I can only describe as Intuition... Feeling something before it happens. I think it's something I had before, but wasn't really strong enough for me to notice. Absolutely feels like it received a boost after that night.

I remember feeling like this giant dust devil had swept completely over my camper. I got the urge to run outside, but I wasn't sure why.... I just knew I felt excited to get out there, like I HAD to be outside for some reason. I was excited to the point I forgot my phone inside, like it never even crossed my mind to grab it. I threw the door open and ran out, closing it behind me to keep Dani inside... That was the moment a giant dust devil actually ran us over. I think I felt it BEFORE it actually hit us.... Thing looked like a mini tornado. At least a quarter mile high. It was huge.

My chair beside the door flips over, right next to me, almost hitting me. I had to duck in front of the camper for cover, shielding my face. It passed by, I look up at it, and that's when I saw a decent sized White Square UFO coasting along to the right of the dust devil. Maybe 15-20 feet in diameter. Maybe bigger, hard to really gauge. It's not spinning, not flipping over... It remains locked in position while it's moving around to the far side of the dust devil. Once it does, I lose sight of it. I'm staring up at the middle of the dust devil, kind of in shock about what I just observed, when a second White Square sails right over me, from behind me. I think it was at most 50 feet away, moving pretty quick. Almost felt close enough to reach out and touch it.

It's a clean white. Almost looked like porcelain. My jaw drops. I watch this one follow the same path the other one did, around the right side of the dust devil. Crazy smooth movement... Almost felt like watching a whale coasting through the ocean. The motion felt... Organic, for lack of a better term. This one actually banked like a fighter plane, tilted at 45°, locked it's position, then curved around the far side of the dust devil and disappeared. I didn't see them both at the same time, so I don't actually know if they were different objects. I never saw either one come back out from the left, so it could've been the same one for all I know.

It's the type of sighting I've been dreaming about for years. Something that would leave zero doubts for me about what I've witnessed. Something obviously structured, close enough to see detail, and during the day... I couldn't help but feel like they showed up intentionally. I don't know if they created the dust devil, or just enjoyed following it, all I know is I'll never forget the imagery of them following it. Almost like they were playing within the winds it was creating. It was seriously jaw dropping... I don't think it mattered I left my phone inside. I couldn't have tore my eyes away from that scene if you had paid me. 😂

I've also had poltergeist like effects prior to the abduction. Tapping on the camper when no one was out there, footsteps making their way towards my bed at 3 in the morning with no one else inside here, items disappearing seemingly into the void... That 48 hour period after, though, was the first time anything reached out and physically touched me.

I was in the bathroom smoking with the vent on, leaning back against the counter on the left. There's no room for anything to be behind me.... What feels like a finger makes contact with my lower back just above the counter and then gently slides across it, but strong enough to drag my shirt with it. I actually felt it shift on my shoulders...

I jump forward with a laughing squeal, instantly unsettled, but somehow amused by the experience. I know it should've been terrifying, but it wasn't. What unsettled me was how comforting it felt. Like whatever did it wasn't actually trying to scare me, but just let me know it was there, almost felt like it was trying to reassure me... And it was strange how much it felt like needed physical contact, because of the state I was in. My reaction to it actually felt stranger than the experience itself. Still struggling to make sense of that. 😅

About a week after that abduction, after a rush of experiences, things had finally started settling down and getting back to normal. They didn't stay that way...

I'm smoking in the bathroom again around 10 pm. It's a quiet night. No wind. The camper feels like it starts swaying on own, and I can't make sense of it. I moved to the front to check on Dani... She's still in the spot I left her, snoring quietly. She hasn't moved. I texted a friend telling them it felt like something was outside, pushing against the camper. "I am fucking NOT going out to check. LMAO"

I finish smoking and go back into the bedroom to finish, putting the gentle swaying out of my mind, convincing myself I had imagined it. Around 10:30pm Dani woke up and let me know she had to go out. The swaying was a distant memory at this point, so I didn't think twice. Threw the lights on the front of the camper on and brought her out, attached her leash, then went over to my car to sit in it while she did her thing... I have the driver side door open and I'm facing out the door.

5 minutes later I saw what looks like a person come walking out from behind the camper. They're walking kind of loudly, the gravel sounds like it's crunching beneath their feet. Only thing strange at this point was how close to my camper they were. They were within feet of it. I'm the furthest thing from confrontational, so I don't say a word. Figured they were from a nearby site and drunk.

It's dark, and they're in the shadow of my camper, so I can really only make out their outline. I notice distinctively long hair sway out behind the back of their head. They're not overly tall, and kind of thin. I'm thinking it's just one of the neighbors walking out to the convenience store just down the street, so I'm not really paying them much mind. They walked straight out from my camper, giving us both some room. Dani sees them, too. She's standing perfectly still, but tracking them with her head. She's dead silent... I find it strange. She always barks at people walking by. It's my first indication something is fucking OFF here... Then I notice their footsteps seem off, too. They're noticeably louder than they should be for someone their size. It makes them sound heavier than they look....

I can see them slow a bit while glancing over at me, then they turn 45 degrees and head towards a couple empty sites across from me, when I was expecting them to turn 90 degrees to head towards the store... Beyond those sites is that empty field to the north, where strange things have been happening. It's the same field that being that I saw before my abduction came from. I get immediate goosebumps. "Something is VERY fucking wrong here". It's almost pitch black and they don't have a flashlight. I get out of the car, trying to get a better look, so I'm not looking at it through the windshield...

I'm almost scared to continue to look. I have a sinking feeling it wasn't actually a person at all. There's a rope fence at the edge of the park, just a single rope strung between fence posts. It marks the edge of the property and not much more... I don't see this thing step over it. It's like it walked through the rope like it wasn't even there.

"FUCK....."

I run back over the car to grab my flashlight. I had an immediate need to know for sure. Everything about the whole experience felt wrong. I grab the light, turn it on, then focus the beam.... I point it into the field where I last saw that thing... My fucking heart stops.

It's TOO far away. It looks like it's a quarter mile out... I cannot even begin to fathom how it covered as much ground as it had, in just a few seconds time... But the distance to it was the least of my problems. When the beam lit it up, it stopped. It glanced back over it's shoulder to look directly at me. Everything I can see... It's face, it's head, the rest of it's body... It's not wearing clothes. And it's COVERED, head to toe, in what looks like black fur. It turns back forward and runs up a small hill and disappears over the other side.

I grab Dani, drag her inside, then lock the door behind us. Throw my machete by the door, just in case. I'm fucking SHOOK. Whatever it wa...

Been diving into lucid dreaming lately and honestly, it feels like one of the most underappreciated gateways into high strangeness. The experiences people report, shared dream spaces, non-human entities, hyper-real environments, start sounding a lot like the phenomena described in UFO encounters or altered states.

I’ve been using this discord channel https://dreamicarus.com/ to build better dream recall and trigger lucidity more consistently, and some of the stuff I’ve encountered has left me seriously questioning the nature of consciousness.

Has anyone else here used lucid dreaming for more than just fun? Like, as a way to explore the fringe edges of reality?
