My car was getting repaired at CSN Herbers South location.

I was scheduled for pickup at 5:30pm. I changed 2 buses to get there since my car was getting repaired and I realized I was there at 5:32pm when I got there. I wont take the guy’s name, he and all the staff was walking out and this guy, who I think is the manager rudely tells me that he has set the alarm now, “can’t help.” Come back again tomorrow and just walks away.

He said that with such bad attitude. Then I thought, he might be having a bad day.

Then I see this old man with his daughter and they both looked visibly upset, they tell me they were 1 minute late! Then I realized it was not just me!!

Zero professionalism. That’s what got me really upset. What's with the attitude guys? Rest of us have jobs too. Unbelievable.

Tip- if you are so punctual about time, next time schedule people for pick up a little early. Don't tell me to pick up my car at 5:30pm and tell me at 5:32pm that you cannot help me.

Edit: at* 5:30pm. I see a lot of people quoting my other comment. That was a typo guys, not by 5:30pm, at* 5:30pm.

Edit: Thanks guys. I am no monster and honestly I would have let it slide, it’s only when I saw more people being affected than just me- I felt I should warn others about this. Have a good evening.

Edit: Please go through some of the comments guys. They have been wayyy worse to a lot of people.

Just a note that every other set of lights along 66th/75th street between 28th avenue and 68th avenue are currently flashing red in all directions INCLUDING the train signals.

Celebration post for finally receiving an offer

Its hard out there.

It took me 3 months and 117 applications to receive an offer back.

If you're in the same boat I was, keep trying! It'll happen!

Metallica's charity foundation, All Within My Hands, donated $50,000 to both the Edmonton food bank and WIN House during their tour here. Pretty cool to see them making these kind of donations in the cities they visit.

It's easy, get up to speed on the ramp not when your on the henday. Time your entry/acceleration to an opening to fit ur car. Indicate, don't forget to shoulder check a couple times., and if everything goes right, ur golden. And if there is a lot of pple. Merge like a zipper. One side after the other.

Addressed too the lady in the black Kia SUV. There was like 4 cars room in front and behind, but ur dumb, blind and lucky I had an open lane too my left.

Video has been released of the LRT VS truck accident yesterday. It appears the truck turned right on a red light before being hit by the LRT.

Very elderly cat has reached this point. Any one have recommendations of someone that will come to your home and do the process that is capable and compassionate ?

West end if that matters. Edmonton west Animal hospital was a recommendation but their low reviews are very concerning.

Thank you

Edit : thank you everyone an appointment has been made.

This is a very long shot, but I had a childhood friend when I was around 7 that was a foster kid around my age, from what I understood at the time. This was back between 2005 and 2008-ish. Her name was Jessica, and we met at the West Edmonton SDA Church (back when I used to be religious). My parents ended up moving away and I never saw her again. I often wondered if I'd ever meet her again, and this is my first attempt at seeing if I could reach out to her after what's now almost 2 decades. All I really remember besides the info above is that she had red hair.

Went to the emergency vet last night with a found kitten. I was hoping they would do an intake because she's so young, but they don't do that anymore. I filled out the ACCC intake form, and then called this morning because she's under two months and therefore priority. 311 can't connect me and told me it can take up to two business days for a call back.

I've posted her in the lost pet groups, banged on every door and even searched a couple yards thinking I could find her home, or more siblings.

She's warm, safe, and eaten a bit, but will need to be taught to cat, and I don't have that ability.

It's early in the day, but I'm frustrated as all heck. I just want to directly talk to the appropriate person in the appropriate department like it's 2009.

I'm going to need a rescue or ACCC to take her in today. Any rescue recommendations if ACCC shits the bed? Is there a secret phone number?

Update 1 - the city can't take her until the 3rd

Update 2 - They'll take her today!!! The city has 2 forms - one for regular, one for priority. Once that got sorted, and they realized how young she is, things smoothed out.

I'm definitely going to send some suggestions to the city to hopefully improve communication.

A patient threw a cup of urine at me while at work. I pressed charges against him (assault with a weapon) and am waiting to go to court. Has anyone been through the court process and can tell me what to expect? Do I need a lawyer? Will I have to go on the stand, or will my written statement be enough?

On Saturday (August 24) at around 1:30 pm, a lady was running around screaming “brown pants, red shoes” and looking for her child. Her partner also seemed to be frantically looking along with some mall security. Was truly heartbreaking and just hoping and wondering if the child was found.

Felt awful for this poor lady as the shopping centre was quite crowed and there was no announcement or anything. Never witnessed anything like this before.

I figure there would have been an Alert sent out but nothing happened. Does anyone know the outcome or even what the protocol is for this?

When I first posted here in this subreddit, nervously looking for players for a Vampire game I was about to run for the first time (also my first time running a TTRPG ever), I didn’t know what to expect. Then, someone from Board N Brew reached out, suggesting their space as the place we play. That simple recommendation changed everything.

Board N Brew quickly became more than just our spot to play a game. It became a cornerstone of my life. For over two years, it was where I spent some of my best moments - usually twice a week, sometimes three times, sometimes four times, each session lasting four hours or more. The games we played, the stories we created, all found a home in that space.

The location was perfect, but it was the atmosphere that made it special. It was a place where my friends and I could truly connect. Board N Brew gave us a space to laugh, to strategise, to escape into the worlds we created. It was our place. This was where I made friends who have consistently been in my life ever since.

The impact Board N Brew had on my life is hard to put into words. All I can say is it truly made a significant and positive impact on my life. I’ve made memories there that I’ll carry with me forever. The news of your closing hit me harder than I could have ever expected, and I’ll admit, I shed a few tears knowing that this chapter is coming to an end. We still don't know how we'll ever replace you.

To the staff of Board N Brew, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You weren’t just there: you were an essential part of the experience. Your kindness, your enthusiasm, your understanding made each visit better. If anyone ever receives a resume from a former Board N Brew staffer, I hope they realize what a gem they’re getting.

I wish I could convince you to stay, but I know I can’t. What I can do is say thank you for the incredible times we had and for everyone who made it so special. Board N Brew, you will be deeply missed, but you’ll always hold a special place in my heart. I won't ever forget you, and I can't be more thankful for all the opportunities and all the memories you gave me.

Haven’t seen Metallica live in about 20 years. Scored some last minute tickets and made it out to the Sunday show. I found energy, production and sound to be absolutely incredible! Like many, I ran into tons of friends. Most had a blast but heard some common complaints, specifically the ticket prices and setlist. Fair enough, I suppose it wasn’t my dream setlist (would love to hear Blackened live!) but it was released in advance, so no surprises, and I had a blast. So I’m curious, which night had the better show? Also, how much did you pay and would you do it again?
