This community is focused on games, of all kinds. Any news item or discussion should be related to gaming in some way.

2. No bigotry or harassment, be civil

No bigotry, hardline stance. Try not to get too heated when entering into a discussion or debate.

We are here to talk and discuss about one of our passions, not fight or be exposed to hate. Posts or responses that are hateful will be deleted to keep the atmosphere good. 5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW

Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.

No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.

Hi everyone! You might recognize my name in here by now, but now you'll see a tiny little 'm' next to it!

Dremor (head mod here in c/Games) recently asked me if I could step into moderating here, and I have accepted.

I've done a lot of moderating on Reddit, from super-large places with 10s of millions subscribed to it (in the fields of tech and programming, gaming and so on), to extra small ones (the last I grew from nothing to 35K when I left the site), so I do know how to not only moderate, but to foster a community and help it feel fun. Though, to be totally fair...it's been a good while since I left Reddit - I'll be rusty!

And what I haven't done is moderate her on Lemmy, so I hope you'll give me a little time to not only learn the ropes...but find them first.

I'm lucky in that a lot of my good friends are developers of games, projects, programs, operating systems and apps to do with gaming (and so on), so maybe in time I'll be able to convince some to do some things here in this community (giveaways, AMAs, chats, something-like-that), but we'll see!

If you've got anything you'd like to see in c/Games, then by all means leave a comment so we can see what we can do.

That's all, I think!

"Thanks to our community for the frank feedback on Bloodlines 2 and the Premium Edition. That feedback made it clear: Lasombra and Toreador belong in the base game, so that is what we are doing," said Marco Behrmann, White Wolf Executive Vice President and Bloodlines 2 Executive Producer.

"Sorry we couldn't get away with it" vibes

WASHINGTON—Today, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) invited the Chief Executive Officers of Discord, Steam, Twitch, and Reddit to testify at a full committee hearing on October 8, 2025. The hearing will examine the radicalization of online forum users, including instances of open incitement to commit politically motivated acts.

“The politically motivated assassination of Charlie Kirk claimed the life of a husband, father, and American patriot. In the wake of this tragedy, and amid other acts of politically motivated violence, Congress has a duty to oversee the online platforms that radicals have used to advance political violence. To prevent future radicalization and violence, the CEOs of Discord, Steam, Twitch, and Reddit must appear before the Oversight Committee and explain what actions they will take to ensure their platforms are not exploited for nefarious purposes,” said Chairman Comer.

Hello fellow indie developers! 👋

I am currently developing A Survival Game, a chaotic 2D survival experience that combines cards, choices, strategy, and permadeath. The core idea is simple: every decision has consequences, and the chaos is part of the fun.

In my latest update, I introduced a new twist:

The bunker can now be invaded by a strange creature known as the Blat Choice 🦀.

These crab-like creatures roam back and forth relentlessly, adding pressure and unpredictability to survival runs.

I also shortened the map, improved visual feedback and performance, and polished animations to make gameplay more dynamic and engaging.

📌 You can check out the game here: [https://danielgamedev14.itch.io/a-survival-game]

I would really appreciate feedback from other devs, especially regarding:

How well the new creature design works in terms of gameplay tension.

Thoughts on balancing chaos and strategy in survival-based games.

General impressions on performance and pacing.

Thanks for reading, and I’d love to hear your thoughts! 🙏

Today's game is Halo MCC. After clearing two games recently i decided to take it easy with some friends, so we played some PvP. And by PvP i mean we got our asses kicked in two rounds of Halo 3 Multiplayer. It was still a fun experience despite getting absolutely pummeled. I got this funny picture of my Spartan looking like they're saying uncle.

There was a King of The Hill match we did too where i pulled a move i thought was really smart and plopped a bubble shield down into a lift and followed it up so when i landed i already had some cover. I was quite proud of that one.

I followed up my landing with... throwing myself off a cliff. In my defense, i had this cool maneuver planned in my head where i circled around onto the point but i under estimated where the point was and missed the landing.

I redeemed myself though by capturing the point with the explosive crates. I dropped them on the enemies from above and bought us a good 20 points. I learned this one from Halo 2 Legendary.

We finished off for the night with that match. Even though we all lost both rounds, it was a good bit of fun. We can't win them all and losing just gives us a chance to get better, and plus i still had fun laughing and pulling off dorky ass moves with my friends. Today was overall pretty short, i'm taking night classes so that doesn't leave me a lot of time some days to get much gaming in, but i still enjoyed the little bit i did.

Today's game is some more Mario Galaxy. I finished it up today after gathering the last few stars i need. The last few levels were hell, it felt like there was a sharp difficulty spike. Nonetheless i persevered. After this? I might try Sunshine. I could never get into it, but i want to give it a try again. If i go on to Galaxy 2 it certainly won't be 40$. I think i'll stick to the original on Wii thank you, regardless of 4K or not.

The bowser fight threw me for a loop because i could have sworn it was like the fight in Galaxy 2 where you have to ground pound the orbs, just with one less wave.

Lava spire galaxy gave me some trouble too because the Lava rose way too fast for me too keep up. Luckily i nailed a good backflip and saved a ton of time on my 3rd try though.

The view from first person is beautiful in this game though. I really wish i had spent more time looking at it from other angles because it's really cool seeing all the parts of the world you may miss.

Anyways, that's the gist of today, did the last few stars i needed, struggled, and got my ass handed too me nearly by the Parkour more so than Bowser. I don't think i'll be going in to 100% it, or even just collect all the stars because i think completing the game took enough out of me. It was fun though, thinking back i though i beat the game as a child, but now i don't think so.

Wow, so I guess they're just going to go ahead and remake them all then.

Take my money!
