My goal was to create a helmet for when I ride my ebike that would look cool, would be protective, and make me more visible.

I printed this on my Ender 3V3 SE with PLA+.

The helmet has a real bike helmet in it, the whole pla structure is reinforced with fiberglass, so if It break it doesn't create sharp pieces that could hurt me, the part are sticked together with gorilla glue and epoxy resin.

I have to 18650 batteries in the top powering the leds, and there is a power switch at the back, the leds are 12v so I used a booster, from my calculation, with my batteries (1200mah each), it could last for more that 3 hours per charge (usb C charge).

The leds are quite powerfull and I can use it to see in the dark, but at a correct distance they are not too bright for other people on the road.

The visor is really great, it's a motorbike one, and it deflect the sun, but I can still see clearly when it gets dark.

I printed in white, sanded it (a lot), painted it in dark olive green, the I added details in black, and some by hand with silver paint to add a used look to it.

I want to add an HUD with something like apple carplay in it, so I could see the directions, the speed ...

My bike is a normal mountain bike converted to ebike with a bafang bbs02b kit.

I will also add more protection inside that I will take from an old ski helmet.

The last picture is a comparison between my first attempt from few years ago and the new one.

I'm pretty pleased with the end result ! But if you have any idea of how I could improve it I would be very happy to hear about it !

Makes me wonder if they've even designed anything on their website.. shame on them! I've reported them via Shopify and reached out to them via Instagram.

Edit: they took it down almost immediately and apologized for the mistake. Best case scenario! Feeling a little embarrassed by the initial emotional post but this kind of thing gets me so worked up! For some people this is their livelihood and we shouldn’t normalize stealing designs for profit.

In case anybody else is shopping for a 3D printer, I just thought I’d let the greater public know that if you are in the United States and you order a Prusa printer, you will need to separately pay a tariff to release your printer for delivery, and it is SIGNIFICANT.

I recently purchased a Core One and some filament as my first 3D printer and it ended up costing me an extra $200 in tariffs and associated processing fees.

EDIT: I get this is the Internet, and everybody wants to just be vitriolic toward one another, but this was just an informative post for anybody in the market for a printer who might not otherwise know. This was not a post to complain that the tariffs exist (however, everyone who voted for or supports the administration who implemented them deserves to have all of their prints spaghettified and delaminated, their nozzles clogged, and their beds perpetually out of level).

Yes, tariffs are paid on all goods that come from other countries, and yes, some companies absorb that cost, or factor it into the sticker price, or handle it some other way. This was just informing any buyers of Prusa printers who are buying directly from Prusa that you as the purchaser will need to directly pay the tariff, and to keep that in mind when trying to figure out how much a new printer could cost you.
